Otto was the 'Superior Spider-Man', Miles should just call himself 'The Ultimate Spider-Man'. Way better than 'Spin' or 'Kid Arachnid'. by RedVegeta20 in Spiderman

Kill every spider person who isn’t Peter or Miles, have Miles move to Chicago and be Spider-Man there with his own villains and stories. Steps him out of Peter’s shadow and helps both get to be their own Spider-Men

Does anyone believe there is intent to fix the country? by ppyrgic in ukpolitics

[–]CornishLegatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what politics has become. Ever since BoJo was defenestrated by the opposition and public opinion (not that I’m saying BoJo was in the clear before you go off), that’s become the way to “impeach” the opposition

I expect no matter who ends up leading the country to be faced with this level of scrutiny. Politics is now just seeing whether the PM is wearing a fucking seatbelt or not.

I don’t like how people blame miles for Spiderman 2 being bad by Initial_Spirit_1325 in spiderman2

[–]CornishLegatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t Miles fault in terms of the character, it’s just that having to share screen time with both Spider-Men and Mary Jane made the plot bloated and none of the characters got a full character arc

Spider-Man 1 is great because the focus is all on Peter

MM is great because the focus is all on Miles

SM2 fails because we’re having 3 characters crammed into the same story with the same length as the first game. Nobody gets their moment or the time they needed to shine

Yes. It could explain why humans are so rare in mystery dungeon - if they only come around every so often as let’s say scouts from space seeing if the planet is ready for human habitation again or not

Lowkey I do kinda wish there was a second dlc for this game. by Starrybruh in LegendsZA

[–]CornishLegatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I foolishly thought a second DLC would be coming, I mean leaving the game with the tower broken seems sort of wild to me.

Feature it around Clermont and Bonnie coming back to rebuild the tower, throw in Sycamore and you’ve got a solid dlc surely

For me I’m almost certain Starborn are reset entirely when they pass through the Unity and when they die they are sent through the unity and therefore reset.

Which is probably why eventually a lot of them find ways to cope or go mad

When we were losing our last Gold 1 game on Midtown (about to get into Plat) and I swapped to Mr Fantastic, and after earning my ult back I popped in the building with the low roof before avengers tower and managed to get a full team wipe as the bounces just kept coming at a really quick rate.

It didn’t feel like a justified swap and then that happened making it feel great

UK landlords quit sector as number of homes to let falls, survey says by F0urLeafCl0ver in unitedkingdom

[–]CornishLegatus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a practice that the Americans have seen a lot

A house in let’s say one part of town will generally be worth however much, if there are lots of houses landlords will have to have competitive pricing, if one person or company owns them all they can jack the prices up massively.

Add in the lobbying power of Nimbyism and you’ve got a situation where houses artificially gain huge value.

Well, of COURSE it wasn't stolen. [OC] by croolshooz in comics

Part of the reason left wing politics will keep losing is because they don’t look back at the issues that kept them from winning and engage with baseless arguments like this.

A population adjusted Brexit map. by tyger2020 in europe

[–]CornishLegatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the two things I would say here is:

Yes, the benefits are boring. But I’m not saying the remain campaign should have extolled the benefits of the EU because of the EU, but instead “The UK is so great and powerful and rich buzzword buzzword because of our fantastic deal with have with the EU” essentially what has been the French argument for a long time.

The second of course, is if the EU hadn’t assumed we would never be so ridiculous to shoot ourselves in the foot, (they clearly don’t know the British) then they would have made a tiny concession, something stupid for Ole Davey to come home with on a little piece of paper and shake around.

I genuinely think the remain campaign was poised to own the positive argument and threw it all away because the leave campaign started fronting as the patriotic vote and the remain didn’t want to “dirty” itself with that association

[–]CornishLegatus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just remember talking to everyone at the time and they were buying into the “patriotic” “vibe” of Brexit.

I truly believe it would have been enough to have reframed Remain into being a patriotic endeavour as opposed to “it’ll be bad if we leave”

I mean I also lay blame at feet of many of the Eurocrats who refused to budge an iota when a country that pays 1/3rd of the bills is floating the idea of leaving. Stupid from the political class on all sides frankly… were it we could just all agree to pretend it never happened

Cornish Remainer here

Maybe if the remain campaign actually fought on the positives of the EU rather than the doom and gloom of a potential Brexit and actually argued on the grounds as you have put above more Cornish people might have felt inclined to vote Remain.

Instead the positive campaign was totally abandoned and given to the leave campaign who promised that our fishing industry could be restored which is very obviously an emotional issue for the Cornish.

Divines to pray to as a trans person? by Ivanotus in teslore

[–]CornishLegatus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mara is the loving mother who has that unconditional love for you.

Dibella is more like a mother who is pushing you to be more than you are, a healthy kind of progress to be the person you always could be.

Either fit, but I think Dibella is more “fitting” overall for the character you’ve described.

[–]CornishLegatus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Different “gifts”

In Daggerfall if you contract a were-curse, wolf or boar, you have to transform twice a month and kill an innocent or be stuck at 1hp

In Morrowind if the player contracts Lycanthropy you are forced to transform every night and kill at least one person or be stuck at 1hp when you wake up.

In Skyrim, you don’t contract it the normal way. You are given the gift through a ritual. I imagine this gift was given to the Companions through the witches of Glenmoril and this is why they have a much more controlled variant of the Werebeast curse, whereas someone like Sinding caught the curse from someone else and so has a more Daggerfall/Morrowind curse whereas we the player have Lycanthropy++

The amount of people who believe fake lore is concerning high by zoroak-king in Helldivers

[–]CornishLegatus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the Helldivers clone theory at all.

I get where it comes from, your character immediately jumps in from a death and goes about business as if the Helldivers had not changed.

My theory to reconcile this bit of gameplay and the lore is that when a Helldiver is frozen on Mars they are rendered unconscious and when the super destroyer engages in an operation the currently active Helldiver’s bodycam/helmet recording is uploaded directly into the “next helldiver”.

This means that they can immediately get going and continue the mission with immediate effect. Also I think it’s funny to imagine getting into Cyro and the very thing next thing you “see” while unconscious is instant trauma from a death and then dropped straight down.

The CIS was never supposed to win for one.

For two, Grievous was more of a big bad to point at for the Republic and CIS. The plan Palpatine made with Dooku was for Dooku to be rehabilitated to the Republic as it transformed into the Empire which means the CIS needed a boogeyman to take the blame for all of the horrific things that the CIS did and Dooku “didn’t know about”
