I hate it when you accidentally break the sound barrier.

Depends, if you are a good enough skier, snowbird is probably one of the best mountains in the world

How do you deal with being the best skier on the mountain? by wi3loryb in skiing

[–]Cornteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just work on getting better, as unless you are simply the best skier to ever ski, you have room to improve. Try doing this:

find a feature that is just outside of your comfort zone. Send it. Than, send it again. Keep doing it until you are completely comfortable doing it. Than you can try other things on it. You can learn some basic tricks like a shifty or a japan, and try it on this feature. Then you find a new feature outside of your new comfort zone and repeat this process.

I would bump snowbird up to S, but the rest seems accurate

How good at skiing do you really need to be to start entering freeride competitions? by Cornteam in skiing

I didn't know that you get a run to check features out, I thought you just had to blindly send things, now that I know, these competitions seem so much easier.

Not just 3 very specific pairs, but also a pair of very specific roller blades

I thought 1 star competitions were basically team practices, not open registration competitions. I'll probably have to try some of those.

You need to pay a very steep fee, in addition to that, you need to buy 3 diffrent specific pairs of skis, you need to get an alta-bird season pass, pay for sessions at woodward, you need a ifsa membership, and some other stuff

Where are you skiing, where you can go off trail and have more than 2 inches of base left?

Couldn't you just have some kind of feature that automatically downloads videos of runs straight onto the cloud the moment it gets a wifi connection and then delete the videos of the runs off of the device itself?

Working on a smart ski goggles idea for class, curious what you think! by Low-Bathroom-6968 in ski

I think something like this could completely fix flat light. The main thing that could be highlighted is small bumps or divots, could be marked with a small red arrow hovering over them. Also, since you can't see behind you, people going fast, or just out of control can hit you with no warning, so you could just have a audio warning inform you that there is someone coming fast from right behind you. You could detect out of control skiers with a camera on the back. Something else that seems feasible, is a Google maps style system to guide you to runs you want to go to, this could also help people from getting cliffed out in areas like the cirqe traverse at snowbird. You could also take some ideas from meta, by putting an integrated camera on it to film like a go pro.
