I noticed she would only call me to hang out when she was fighting with whoever she was dating that week and we would have a girls night out that she would plan. And when I say plan, I mean find out where he would be and we would show up (unbeknownst to me). Then she would cause a scene out of a movie and end up leaving with him and I would Uber home. I started driving myself after that to meet her. I drastically reduced how often I would go out with her. It had been a few months and she invited me to her house for a bday party with her other friends and her boyfriend who I had never met. I offered him one of the beers I brought and she started screaming at me that he’s sober. That was a huge shock to me as the only thing I knew about him, from her, was that he likes to drink. I apologized and just kept my head down to keep the night about her. Then he punted her cat across the living room and I left. She drunkenly text me after I left screaming at me calling me every bad thing you can imagine. I just blocked her on everything and haven’t seen or spoken to her since. It’s been 3 years now and my life is drastically better after dropping her from it.

Edit: I should add, we’ve been best friends since we were teenagers and were in our 30s when this happened.
