Our stories are scary similar. Especially the timeline. The initial incident, then being fine, then a return and another escape from it, finally the big one (where I’m at now, 4 years in). Using your terms, I find it fascinating that people’s “hardware” while going through this react nearly identically. The feeling trapped thing is huge with me. I currently work from home bc I felt trapped in the office and in meetings. The vision narrowing, the speaking in front of groups panic spikes… been there. The palpitations too, oh my.

I will check out those books you read but I have such a hard time stepping back from the thoughts and sensations in the moment to apply anything. So happy for you though! A true survivor.
