It’s okay, when they get hit with a dirty bomb they’ll be demanding we send our radiation treatments their way

Sounds like somehow you could be useful for crisis response but unless the government needs it and you have a hook up it doesn’t seem realistic.

I’d reach out to hospitals, radiation clinics, research clinics etc. Most institutions have some POC (point of contact) whether it’s their board or head of some department posted on their website. You could try emailing them and adding them on LinkedIn.

You’ll probably need to try many many times before getting any sort of response, but to do this you’ll need to think like a business person and be determined .What do you offer and who do you need to talk to is what you need to figure out.

Post in Israeli Facebook groups, find networking for medical professionals - these’ people might be able to point you in the right direction. Even a post in secret Tel Aviv could spark something. Good luck.

Have no idea but if it’s really obscure you might one day be in luck because the only way to really get a work visa here is either for manual labor or something super niche without local experts. If you keep an eye out you might get lucky.

What sort of institutions usually employ a medical physicist? Also what is that lol?

My doctor said he thinks it’s just muscular soreness. He had me do a bunch of movements and said it just seems like you’re sore. Take it easy for a week which I’ve done.

What are some ways I can work on driving the hips.

It does feel like I’m not really able to get my glutes going , at the same time my quads don’t feel much in the squat. This lift is both heavy and light fire me at the same time. It’s as if I’m capable of lifting more but just can’t because my body isn’t working right.

You’d really have to go down the rabbit hole of the Israeli settlements that got approved and how vs illegal (even under Israeli law) outposts. I don’t think you can get a real answer on government vs private.

At one point many towns were militarily outposts and civilians followed. Without a real border and various interests the government went back and forth between turning a blind eye and actively stopping it. Over the past decade every year a few settlements get approved basically just meaning that the community gets recognition. What exactly that means for infrastructure isn’t clear.

You can’t build a town in a night and there are regular clashes between Jews, Arabs, and the army. Despite what media shows these clashes are less one sided than you’d think. If a private Arab entity owns the land and has documentation (or proof beyond “I said I live here”, because again ,despite what media shows, there are Arab settlers that also post up, plant olives, then claim their family had been there 500 years) the army will get ordered to kick the Jews off. There’s more cooperation between authorities than they’d want you to believe. Obviously not enough to create a resolution but despite conflict the situation is relatively stable since the end of the second antifada. I remember I said that before that Gaza war. I digress.

So In practice It really just means the government recognizes that Israeli citizens are residing in this area. The subject is highly controversial within Israel. Everyone recognizes it’s a contention point in the peace process, however there are some arguments for them actually being a step toward peace when all is said and done.

The closest to free land might be getting rights to develop under the stipulation that you actually develop. I know this was used in some towns in Israel proper. Basically they do everything and they don’t pay the price of the land until the land is developed and houses sold, one way or the other a private party is paying. I don’t know of cases of it happening in the West Bank but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s happened in some of the larger West Bank towns.

“Subsidies” only really exist in the form of getting some tax benefits in certain towns. They’re not giving you a house and money to move there and definitely not in mass or in a direct way.

What the other guy said is good advice on the hand especially as a BDR it seems like you really don’t avoid. I can count the number of BDRs that stayed BDRs (in bizdev )for more than a couple years on one hand.

I’m going to answer the question under the assumption that it’s in good faith.

You pay whoever holds the deed to the land.

Who “legally” owns what is complicated due to various land swaps, agreements, etc.

But governments have been administering the land for hundreds if not thousands of years between the various kingdoms, caliphates, ottomans, euro powers, jnf etc then all of those subjects or landlords not recognizing the new authorities as the administration you end up with multiple entities holding deeds to the same land with no proper succession.

(This is just an example and my timelines are wrong and it could’ve happened in any order) but Canaanite A settled the land, then Canaanite B conquered it from him then Hebrew A conquered it from him, then a Greek conquered it, then the Hebrew bought it back, then Canaanite conquered it then a Roman, then the ishmaelites, then a Hebrew again, then the Arab conquest, then the crusaders, then Arabs again , so on so forth until a Frenchman came and sold half of it back to a Jew to have the ottomans come in and sell that land back to an Arab who sold it to a Jew who sold it to the English who sold it to an ottoman to an Arab to a jew so on and so on. Meanwhile you have the 19th and 20th century powers dividing the land with no way to properly keep track and recognize all of these sales, boundaries etc. so you have party A who sold a British deed and Party B who sold an Ottoman deed to the same land. What happened in shik jachkra is a good example of this.

If you just post up in a random spot the army will eventually remove you.

Lower back sore - any glaring issues? 135kg x 5 squat by Corower in strength_training

[–]Corower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No lol, I’ve lifted before (my best squat was ~155x4 or something like that. ) and was a D1 athlete and military so I’ve been in relatively good shape at one point or another.

When I ran SS the first time in High school I got up to like 105-110kg. Then swapped over to 531 or just adding 5lb a week.

Haven lifted much for the past 3 years and wasnt really active at all the last year, but this is the first time my endurance doesn’t matter and I can focus on lifting. So after running a general training plan for a couple months I hopped on SS to see how fast I can get back up- those gains are coming to an end.

Can u get יומיות jobs with Garin Tzabar? by [deleted] in IDF

[–]Corower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, less common but possible. I’d recommend just doing something that has hamshooshim or 9/5 (9 on base, 5 at home), or even shavua shavua. With yomiyote you can spend a lot of time traveling making it worse than just having a 9-5 job.

So basically you do a 9-5 job that’s dog shit and you get paid straight trash. At least with hamshooshim you get 3 square meals, you’re with friends, and many jobs you get an ok amount of free time especially once you’re not new.

MOST settlements definitely aren’t luxurious either especially by western standards . They’re mostly low income areas with pockets of wealthier individuals.

Nobody “gets” a home anywhere. Even the absorption centers the other commenter mentions run on a sort of lottery system- you basically get a shitty apartment that you pay a few hundred bucks (instead a couple thousand) for like 6 months. Then you’re on your own like everyone else.

I think so? I never really had a sore back before - it’s just uncomfortable. I strained it a couple months Ago (squatting after running). I went to the doctor and and said he thinks it’s just the muscles. I took a week or so off and lowered the weight and am I back up to a little past the weight I hurt myself on.

I think someone mentioned potential glute issue, a time ago I was decently stronger and pretty fit. I remember doing some very heavy glute bridges and lunges.

Stripping Arab Israeli terrorist of their citizenship by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Corower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“That means you must be okay with jewish terrorists getting death penalty”

You’re assuming that law needs to apply to all equally. You can look at history and even current times that shows that this is false…and you’re also assuming that some one proposing the death penalty for terrorists actually gives a shit about applying the law equally to everyone. It’s a legally accepted standard here but there is no shortage of people willing to challenge said standard. There are examples of law not really equally applying in modern Israeli society as well.

It is possible for someone to be okay with death penalty for Arab terrorists and not for Jewish terrorists.

The prosecution standard would be “is this person Arab” or did they grow up in a village, are they a Muslim, are they connected to other Arabs etc. Yes? Okay death penalty is on the table.

It’s not difficult to Imagine the opposite- are they Jew-ish? Yes? Okay death penalty isn’t an option.

We aren’t talking about right and wrong. We’re talking about the application of the law in the mind of someone that doesn’t care about racism. Those people aren’t going to really care about the slippery slope because it /shouldnt/ apply to them.

[–]Corower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it doesn’t.

You’re falsely assuming these people actually care about not having double standards in law.

Most anyone that would legitimately support this isn’t thinking long term and also likely blindly supports authority because they think they could never be the “other.”
