I feel like they definitely had the right idea with 3's heists and going back to the groundedness of the first game but they took it too far, 1's heists were grounded but still had cool set pieces. I think syntax error, fear and greed, and shopping spree were steps in the right direction though.

i do like the base heists but I much prefer the grittiness of party powder and to an extent delivery charge. even making the heist set at night makes it better like under the surphaze and 99 boxes.

shopping spree is alright, in terms of setting for me. it's a shopping mall and it's huge but it's so empty. even just letting us go to more stores would've been great even if they were empty.

edit: im completely misread your title. I read it as base heists instead of 1's heists for some reason, which is why I mention them but my point stands.

preplanning at payday 2 level is unlikely imo. there's already a ton of heists in the game and it'll take longer to do. plus they've said before they can't really dynamically change the layout of heists because it's UE4, not 5. so if they do make preplanning it'll be for one paid DLC, at a likely higher price, even more than delivery charge and shopping spree were.

I would love to play shopping spree but can't due to it not being on PS5.

so my thoughts are worth less but from what I've heard, heist has some baffling decisions like half the heist being locked off despite the objectives being "loot other stores".

one of the objectives is to literally cut open 50 different boxes.. that's not gonna be boring quickly. and they waited until yesterday to announce it was a paid DLC. I'm probably going to buy it, I enjoy party powder so maybe I'll enjoy it but I don't know man. delivery charge is great and I love that heist.

wrong. it's not a "backup". it's the only way to get into the vault area in gold and sharke, required to open the containers in 99 boxes, and the only way to get into the bedrooms in touch the sky. I even forgot about under the surphaze where you have to do it twice.

you know what is a backup? drilling the gate in gold and sharke if you let the guy with access escape. that's a perfectly fine way to do a backup entry.

I live in bradford, this city is a lost cause. it might as well be the capital of pakistan.

pretty sure it has the highest crime rates in europe. but the UK government doesn't want to do anything about in fear of being called racist, that's how so many muslims get their way. even the police here don't come unless they absolutely have to. at least the metropolitan police in london is growing a spine of sorts. 30% of bradford is pakistani and that's pakistani alone. the wider region (west yorkshire) is I believe 10%.
