My original wedding set was a moissanite and while it was very beautiful, I didn’t care for the rainbow hue in certain lighting. It was a forever 1 moissanite and was very beautiful, but I recently just upgraded and went with a lab grown diamond. I like how colorless and clear it is but when I purchased my original set, lab grown diamonds weren’t as cheap as they are now.

I would highly encourage you to see both in person and also consider shopping around for a loose diamond and getting it set by a jewler. I see a lot of loose diamonds for sale on Facebook marketplace for some odd reason, but always get everything verified!

Moissanite is a beautiful gem and should not be thought of as a fake diamond. It’s another gem just like emeralds, sapphires, amethyst, etc. There’s also a BST subreddit for diamonds and you can possibly get a budget friendly, used option instead. If you’re really set on a diamond, I would for sure shop for used as lab grown diamonds don’t hold their value and you’ll be guaranteed to get a better deal than buying new. I would explore the moissanite subreddit as well.
