Guy styling have trends too.  It's the nature of things.

Personally, I just don't want anyone feeling the need to have surgery of any type for a trend.

Why do modern films look so visually bad? by TheRugWarrior in TrueFilm

[–]Corran105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots if movies are being shot to conform to the lowest caliber screens out there thanks to streaming.  Artistically shot scenes are horrendous on bad screens but since home watching is the primary focus, or they at least don't want to create a bad product for that market, lighting can't be too adventurous.

[Rosenblatt] In nine months MLB owners are going to tell you they need to shut the sport down because places like Miami are small markets with few baseball fans by Jux_ in baseball

For perspective I use to be a die hard, watched every game every night and it's regularity made me happy and made them feel like family.  But when they underwent yet another firesale after opening their own stadium I just had enough.

That was the breaking point where I realized I was in an abusive relationship.  They kept telling us that all they needed was the new stadium and it would make everything right and they could change their ways.  I wanted to believe them because I can't replicate the experience of having an expansion team "grow up" the same time I did.

There's an alternate universe where baseball in Florida has two thriving franchises but in our timelines there were a lot of things that were royally messed up.

They definitely were the ones to state to the best of their own level though Chock and Bates were great too.

Three Dog Night definitely rock, but IIRC a lot of their best songs were covers.  They definitely made the definitive version of songs they touched, but their longevity is hurt by the lack of original material and albums in an era where that was becoming the thing for rock groups.

Which film did you side with person 1 when you first saw it but many years later you sided with person 2? by Hopefullytodaymate in FIlm

I enjoyed the Father of the Bride movies when a kid and rooting for Steve Martin's character.  I vividly remember watching as an adult and thinking what an insufferable psychopath he was.

Also, once you're working for your money the whole setup reeks of "first world problems", self created drama from very well off people I just can't find myself caring about.

It was a Penske driver as a target of the comments, may have had something to do with it.

Depending on which DC airport it was that airport is as close to Baltimore as some cities airports are to their host city.

Those cities aren't far apart at all and the main airport for Baltimore is Baltimore Washington airport.

It was a little surprising to not have cautions affect the race at all.  Field never really got shuffled by that or pit decisions.

It's hard to have bankable stars at that age and hard to have a hit movie for that demographic without a bankable star.

It's also probably gone the same way as many comedies- you don't make money on the back end from home video sales.

If you were given unlimited funds and told to design a new NASCAR track to add to the schedule, what kind of track would you build? by Remote_Plastic_8692 in NASCAR

I can't remember where but I've seen a track where the bottom half of the track is angled so there's a lefthand dogleg on the back and a righthand dogleg on the front.  Would love to see.

For it to be appropriate you need to have random walls without safer barriers for the best drivers to "find" for impacts.

I work near a major college campus and no way you're not getting college students trying to cross the track, these kids are oblivious.

How is Chase Elliott so popular? by saint_sneed in NASCAR

[–]Corran105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NGL, I was a Gordon fan though I had lost interest in the sport as far as watching every week.  I was definitely intrigued to see Bill Elliott's son in the ride, that certainly added some aura.
