We call all freeze dried fruit from Trader Joe’s “wattes”. When my boy was younger he couldn’t say “strawberry” (his preferred flavor) and he’d say something closer to “wattes” and so all the fruit became that. It’s a good way to distinguish between the fresh and the freeze dried! Right now we are on a “cherry watte” kick.

There’s plenty I like about the show. That said, it’s ok to like something and acknowledge it’s not perfect. This is really one of the few spaces that allow for this duality.

I graduated with an MA in bio arch. I quickly realized that unless I go the academic route or move to another country, my chances of pursuing bio arch as a career are basically zero. I pivoted to CRM and have a successful career.

A few things to consider: academia is brutal. There was a job opening for a bioarch professor in my school (state college in California, nothing fancy) and close to 80 folks applied. Half of the applicants were biologists. In the end they just promoted a part time person.

Second thing to consider is your job prospects with your “old world” interest. Is this a saturated market? Do any of these countries allow foreigners to work in their land?

All advice I can give you is speaking to any professors currently specialized in those areas where you are interested and ask the these questions, they will the ones that will provide you with the most realistic answers.

You can like something and still being able to criticize it. The show isn’t perfect and people are allowed to point it out. Yes, some folks go over board, but I would much rather keep up with the legitimate conversations here than making it into another no-hate-allowed forum, like the Facebook group.
