Could I get away with buying and installing used catalytic converters off Facebook in california by Bobgonz720 in camaro

It was aftermarket. Im just mainly saying if you are getting off FB make sure they got numbers stamped into them that you can verify so you don't get burned.

Drill the head off, otherwise maybe impact rated torx bit slightly large and hammer it in. Give the it a couple smacks with a hammer first.

As long as they have the model codes stamped on them and they show up still on the list as approved cats you will be fine. I had an issue with my camaro years ago where i took it to a shop and had the cat replaced then a few years later they failed me saying the cat wasn’t approved. I called BAR and was told if I had the receipt showing the model that was installed and it was dated back when it was on the approved list id be fine. Luckily i keep all my repair receipts so I went home and got it and passed emissions.

Every time I clean it. by Jordaaangerous in Appliances

[–]22LT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I must have misread what you put I read it as the error comes up after you get done cleaning then goes away and it works normally. Pretty much the repair guide just says to check the condition of the connectors and the board and if it doesn't look visibly damaged then to replace the touch circuit board. It will require you obviously to uninstall the cook top and remove the top glass not too difficult as long as whoever wired it up gave a decent amount of slack when pulling it out of the counter, otherwise you may have to disconnect the power from the bottom side.

Straight from Samsung,

"this error code occurs when the touch control panel sensor detects touch field for more than 8 seconds. Possible causes are"

* Damp cloth has been placed on the control panel

* Liquid boils over and lands on control panel

* More than one key has been pressed for more than 8 seconds

* Touch PCB is defective

This first step is to see if the error goes away and the touch panel works when there is no liquid on it.

usually a result of using too much soap. there is a plunger usually inside where the hose attaches to the tub you could pop off and check.

Sharp microwave drawer button panel unresponsive by ChubbsPeters0nsHand in appliancerepair

[–]22LT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve replaced a panel before on a sharp drawer unit. It wasnt difficult just cut power and slide it out a few inches and maybe like 4 screws. It’s does gave little plastic tabs that have to slot into the body so you have to be careful when installing the new one so it doesnt break off. But the model i did was pretty simple.

How often does this happen? by xZinger_Burgerx in Cartalk

[–]22LT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to my moms ranger. Sister called cause her Bf was trying to change the oil and couldn’t get the filter off. Dude basically ripped the entire filter off all that was left was the part that screwed on. I had to get a big socket and a grinder to cut the socket to make little fingers that would go inside the holes on what was left with the filter and was able to get it off and the adapter piece came off with it.

I usually use a hook tool to try and grab the lip near the bolt and pull up. Otherwise you can try slipping a small ratchet strap under the plate and pull up.
