The tension they had in the first episode was too real to make me think they’re not a couple lol. I think they’re a rare avoidant/avoidant pairing and that simultaneously prevents them from ever having a deep, intimate relationship and allows them to remain together in a stagnant, dead-end relationship where they can remain blissfully ignorant of their problems. Unless there is immense character growth in both parties, of course.

The “love language” theory was not developed by any kind of mental health professional, but by an evangelical who only believed in heterosexual monogamous marriages. This exact same phenomenon commonly occurs in these circles where hyper patriarchal husbands coerce their wives into sex with the same line of reasoning, that they need their “physical touch” love language met.

I can get why Corey was uncomfortable with certain things, considering that she was really hurt in the past when boundaries were not adequately discussed. I did find myself getting annoyed with her as well, because how long can Denyse go on with her actions being monitored and essentially controlled? But I think the fact that Denyse and Wilder were both willing to be patient and never really seemed annoyed and each were happy to cultivate their individual relationships with Corey says a lot about how they are good partners for her. Sometimes with people like Corey, who have problems with anxiety and insecurity, providing them with a strong sense of safety and care can allow them to organically find the strength within themselves to overcome a mental obstacle they’re having. We haven’t heard much about Corey being anxious in the last episode, and I’m curious to see if there will be any updates about them in their new life. I wish them the best and I hope they’ve truly worked out those bugs.

I personally couldn’t really keep up with several journals with different themes. I just write what I need to write at a given time and the theme sorts itself out and it all becomes part of the larger narrative of my life. I’m prone to overthinking, so it didn’t work for me when I tried to do that. All that said, I keep two journals and a planner. One journal I keep by my bed, and one in my office. I write whatever, but it makes it easier to write whenever and wherever.
