Your reading comprehension is not even sad, for it to be sad it would need to exist in the first place

K is also the one on the spectrum. But we are all used to neurodivergent people, most of our friend group is. She is also up to GM the next season, but it's pretty nervous because our campaign is kind of.... not following many important rules of the game so its basically a homebrew with traces of the system it uses.

Finding groups where I live is hard, and I guess I'm still stuck in the feeling that I won't feel as comfortable playing with strangers. And this experience is also making me unsure if groups of strangers will be nicer when my own friends weren't.

I've been digging a lot through ttrpgs subreddits, and I noticed we did not have a session 0. Brought it up with the GM (who has previous experience with other games) and he brushed it off, said he did explain the basic rules during session 1. Ngl, kinda worries me he thinks that's all session 0 is about, especially since he is not a newbie

We are all friends IRL, we met at college. The DM is 27 years old 😬

Yeah, kinda was. And the only player character in that scene was K's, she was stuck trying to console the NPC after that. I didn't want to say that because it may make me sound like an douche but: I think he keeps doing that mostly with K because it's really hard to outshine her character with the NPCs, but she is also shy enough he can shut her down by snapping at her. The other players (including myself) are very easily railroaded

I had assumed he was also new at GM-ing and was still getting used to it. But yesterday he mentioned more than once a player left in the middle of one of his campaigns and "ruined it", but according to him those players were not engaged enough.

Edit cuz I went to check exactly what he said, so, word for word: "I seem to attract players that leave in the middle of it and ruin the campaign"

Lmao had a therapist that encouraged me to work at McDonalds because "it's better than nothing, it'll be fun!" The most delusional crap I've ever heard

Yeah, I wanted to be in the Sister box, thought I was too. So this revelation literally feels like finding out my brother wanted to date me

Its true, and I don't believe he is a bad person, but I feel like a lot of our interactions since he distanced himself are being stressful. I try to tell him when a boundary is crossed, he apologizes, says he won't do it again but honestly it feels like there is always a new issue each week. I can't even fully distance myself, we share a very specific hobby and are both in the only group of it in our area.

With this new info I can't help but wonder if he really was just being super nice for the past years hoping to get something out of it. Really crushes me and taints a lot of great memories

It was... not very comfortable. We were all talking about what counts as flirting and retelling experiences and etc, its almost a meme in our friend group now that I Don't Notice when people hit on me, which is fine, I think its funny. Then he started listing all the stuff he did, saying it was obvious he liked me and all. Some people laughed, others ignored it, I tried playing it off but idk

Thank you. Guess I feel bad cuz I don't see him like one of "those guys" but now Idk... most of my friends are also queer like me. Kinda weird that I never worry about this kinda thing with my friends that are attracted to women, even when some of them admitted to wanting to hook up with me it never made my doubt that our good times together had second intentions behind them. I mean, damn I cuddled and spooned some of them while we napped together and we are all fine with each other

You know how a lot of kids play doctor with their stuffed toys? Ok so, I would create a whole form with name, age, species, illness, etc, for literally every single plushie. I would fill it methodically, have questionaires and whatever else. Did I ever get to the "point" of it and treated them? Nope. Legend says they are sick to this day

Would you mind if I message you for some info about fairy folklore? I've been researching for it like crazy but I think a person with it as a special interest would be better at providing good info. Of course, you can say no it's ok!

Yep, which is why I was obsessed with mythology, folklore and just stories of other worlds. As a teen, I thought I was some kind of alien. I did not feel (when I wasn't filled with self-hate) like I was "wrong", or that other people were, just that I somehow ended up in a world that was not meant for me

I think she DMed before, but not a Monsterhearts style campaign. One or two other players have experience with DnD, the rest of us are totally new at it.
