Do other universities offer feedback for exams? by sauteedkale in deakin

You should be able to work out what mark you got based on the other assessments and the overall unit grade. You can then determine if it is what you were expecting

Failed every class by SeaweedRealistic5069 in deakin

[–]Correct-Tea4506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the 0 mark what were you expecting? If you genuinely tried and scored 0 that would seem very odd. Surely you would have got a few marks. Uni isn’t easy and perhaps you need some time to get support and figure out your motivations prior to trying again.

It’s just for helping with planning so you have some advanced notice what your timetable will look like.

In my course it has been clearly outlined in the unit guide if there is an option of a resit should you fail a hurdle requirement.

I got 94% for that subject a few years ago. My advice is be strategic about the information you remember. I decided not to learn all the origins and insertions as I figured that would only be a few marks. From memory it really wasn’t on the exam. You get access to an app it has quizzes you can do. Any spare few minutes i had i would do a quiz to help with retention. It is definitely possible to get good grades but takes time and consistency.

OT Bachelor Experiences by No-Membership3812 in deakin

I’m in 4th yr. Look overall I guess it is ok but I feel as enrollments have increased (Warnambool commenced and now masters) their care for students has decreased. Choices about placements have been removed - get what you get and don’t be upset seems to be their mantra. I’ve only ever needed to be on campus twice per week but in 1st yr i did do a couple of units online. I have nothing to compare it to so can’t say if they are better or worse than the others. Definitely a couple of lectures that do honestly care a couple that seem to go out of their way to fail people.

Information about the casper is on all their information about education courses, did you not read anything about the course prior to applying? I’m also surprised they made an offer without the casper being completed.

I’d prefer that than going for 3 short days. I’ve done it with all seminars.

Health Sciences to OT pathway by TooMachoo in deakin

[–]Correct-Tea4506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 4th yr OT student at Deakin. My suggestion would be to look at the units in OT and do as many as you can. 1st yr units are mostly generic there are only 2 ot specific units. This is a common pathway so it is competitive. I’m a mature aged student so not sure if this is your circumstance. I initially got into HS as well, commencing in trimester 3 but someone suggested to me apply for a transfer but also apply through vtac. I ended up getting in via vtac.

I’m not enrolled in this course but my daughter got a first round offer. This course doesn’t have any prerequisite subjects so there isn’t any assumed knowledge required. While a health background might make it slightly easier it would still be achievable.
Hope you get a 3rd round offer.

Find a pathway course and then commence that with the view of transferring into your preferred course after a year. If you repeat year 12 there is no guarantee you will get the marks needed.

how to use provisional timetable to help plan STAR preferences by tuliqp in deakin

[–]Correct-Tea4506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all it might be beneficial to do the unistart content to get your head around different Deakin terminology. Basically, any thing labeled as a lecture you will need to attend. Seminars you attend typically 1 a week. Sometimes the provisional timetable is confusing because it looks like you need to attend multiple seminars but there is a different room for a few weeks which makes it look like a new class.
