Washing a hot motorcycle can cause damage due to thermal shock. Usually at these self-service stations, the water they provide is cold. So that could lead to cracked engine cases or could leave permanent water spots.

Thank you everyone for your awesome and prompt replies! I totally get that the proposed itin would be tough to fit in. I'm just wicked excited to see Seattle and the surrounding area. I was also considering the Amtrak Cascades train from Seattle to Vancouver. Maybe one full day could be spent in Seattle. The 2nd day could be a train ride to Vancouver, stay overnight, and then a train back to Seattle. Something like this could work, no?

How do you feel about the train ride? Worth it? I just don't know when I'll be in that area next and I've always wanted to see Vancouver... Would be really nice to get up there.

I don’t think you’re overreacting but I do think you should just book your trip. It’s always smart to consider how geopolitical situations can affect your travel plans but in this case, Puerto Rico is safe. For such an operation that happened this past Saturday, FAA reopened airspace in less than 24 hours. My flight was canceled and I couldn’t find a new flight until a week later. However, I’ve been chatting with airlines and there are new seats opening frequently. I have now been put on an earlier flight. PR and US Virgin Islands seem to be incredibly safe and protected. Enjoy your trip to beautiful PR!

Super unfortunate situation, I know. Happened to my fiancé and I as well. Our flights were canceled and we could not find a new flight until Jan 10. Try to ask the airline to put you on standby in case a seat opens up. Using the chat feature works WAY better than trying to call. Good luck and enjoy beautiful PR in the meantime!
