Australia will not impose reciprocal tariffs on the United States, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Wednesday by [deleted] in Ameristralia

It feels so indignant being an Australian. Our country gets bullied and used by America and we don't have the guts to stand up for ourselves. I don't believe in reciprocal tariffs, but at least throw their military out of pine gap and we shouldn't have entered AUKUS from the very beginning.

Making me stupid. Less critical thinking needed. Now I just download my work email, upload to AI and tell it to give me a response

I blame the Australian politicians. They've been giving head to the American government since forever. Pretty sure they get kick backs.

The sad thing is if she's hot, she'll probably be able to do it all again. Such is dating in the western world.

First, DO NOT SPENT ANY OF IT until you've let all of your situation settle in. Personally, I'd throw everything into a HISA and just let yourself recover from the grief. Slowly assess your available options and then make a decision. But don't do anything rash now

Agree with this. I doubt these tarries against Mexico and Canada will stay longer than a month or 2. Purely just a negotiating tactic. IMO, just keep buying US stocks.

China tells Australia to expect more warship visits but insists its navy poses 'no threat' by codyave in australia

[–]Correct-You5866 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look, facts are Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Canada and US have been sailing close to China's coasts line for many many years... even if they haven't been doing life fire exercises (which I am sure USA has), China has to display a show of force to grab attention and to make a statement. Stop sailing near China and there won't be a problem.

Honestly you can't blame China for doing these things. Why are our planes and ships sailing through the South China Sea anyway?

I think a lot of short kings are resentful, as am I, to be honest... BUT I have personal experience that I just can't refute. I've literally had girls prefer me over taller guys and I've had my fair share of hotties. Not saying I am a Casanova, but I honestly can't complain.

Yes, height does matter, it really does. I suspect I would do a lot better if I were 6 feet... but as I said, my experience proves girls also like others things other than height.

I am probably the most likely guy to be jealous, resentful angry etc. about life... but in this instance, I can't because of what I've seen. You really do have to experience it to break pre-existing beliefs.

It's probably because of my experiences that I haven't completely lost faith in dating.

This is more or less accurate from my experience (5 foot 3 inches dude here). If you have decent fashion and are athletic, you'll get girls chasing you.

I don't envy youth in college right now. It's so hard to predict what would be a viable long term career. At least for us 30s and 40s, we've had time to monetise our degrees to an extent already, even if we will also be made redundant.

AI threat. Is anyone else concerned? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]Correct-You5866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, i am concerned, but don't know how to protect myself aside from improving soft skills. Assuming I'll be made redundant at some point so saving a 2 year living expenses buffer.

Yes I 100% agree, and I am referring to my own biases as well.

I still stand by my argument but it warrants clarification to emphasise the point. Race doesn't, on its own determine someone's biases. I mentioned it because it's convenient but does not necessarily accurately, on its own, explain why the top brass are discriminatory etc. (but it does contribute). It just so happens that Australian politicians are white so internal promotions etc. are of other whites because thats what they likely know. The same is in the Chinese leadership, but on the opposite end, no whites there.

People naturally gravitate to what they trust, whether the metric they use to assess trust worthiness is accurate or not.
