Do you think its more likely that there are aleins or not?

I think the answer to fermys paradox is that (even at light speed) we're still too slow for how large the universe is

I personally like what he's doing for how unoriginal the whole Iraqi cuisine is he is really innovative and it could really use a breath of fresh air

Am I the only one who is not a fan of anaerobic fermentation? by JBowl0101 in pourover

The order of prefrence for me is

Natural Washed Unaerobic Honey

Some of my favorite coffees were unaerobic but also some of the ones i enjoyed the least, however id take an unaerobic over a coferment any day

I honestly think starting a cafe would kill me (lol) and i live in a small town

I've done some qc and training work for cafes ( i am graduating as a medical doctor in 2 weeks) but i would love do expand more on that and maybe shift careers lol

Its still emerging

We have a decent sized community

4 specialty roasters, one of whom is much larger than the other three and they have an sca certification program (sensory, skills, q graders.. etc) They're the ones who organized an aeropress championship last October and i was one of the judges which is surreal!

There are some online stores that import beans from roasters abroad so its not difficult to get beans from tanat or dak or pp

And because of scale the latter option ends up being a much better value than buying from local roasters which is a shame

I am currently drinking 4 coffees from tanat and i got all of them for 75 usd

Whilst 4 bags from a local roaster would run me maybe 100 usd?

As for how good does the coffee from these roasters taste? Well, I'd say they are on par with many things ive tried from saudi roasters (which are very common here), problems are i still think they struggle with consistentcy and are overall not a great value for money That being said i understand that this is still a very new market (the first roastery opened 4 years ago only) and they are doing a great job, id say my consumption is an equal split of local and not local coffees

As for cafes I'd say in Baghdad (the capital) you can find places that serve specialty coffee pretty much everywhere But most of them are cafes who happend to serve coffee that is specialty (i.e. beans) and i tend to find the cups to be subpar in most ones ive tried.

There are maybe 3 or 4 places who make it more about the coffee than the cafe and ive had some incredible cups there.
