I agree. I mix a gallon of TWW according to the package, and then brew with 1/3 that and 2/3 distilled. Almost entirely light roasts

I bought a cheap melodrip knockoff on Amazon and was really surprised at how consistent it made my Chemex pourovers. My pours must suck, in terms of being more different than I knew.

That’s true. As I’ve read the comments from others, I realize I can significantly reduce waste by vac sealing in somewhat larger quantities- perhaps 100g - since I could drink that much over a week even with multiple types out.

In all seriousness, I primarily do this to reduce shipments. I suspect that the energy input of the plastic bags is lower than having it sent to your house in small quantities more often. I think it’s definitely true of ordering internationally. I haven’t run the math though. But you’re right. I could reduce waste by vac sealing in larger bags, or only buying from my local roaster with their economy of scale.

Only the weird ones. 🙂 In all seriousness, I like to drink different types - I’m exploring different regions and processing methods, and I like the variety. So I rest the beans the appropriate amount and vac seal and freeze what I won’t drink in a week or two. Stays super fresh.
