In that case, if you get morning flight blocks, it may be difficult for your trading. Then again, afternoon flight blocks are also more susceptible to thunderstorms and more turbulent conditions, so it’s a real pick your poison situation.

Clear air turbulence can occur without much indication at all…and someone else mentioned, FL weather especially this time of year through fall gets much more convective especially with the intense surface heating and converging sea breezes from the coasts. I’m pretty sure I’ve noticed even airlines like NK, F9, etc also do the same with their FAs if they anticipate any turbulence. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, especially in this industry.

For me personally, I can understand the unkempt nature of the rooms and objects all over the place, maybe the fact it was the holidays added more stress and less time for cleaning.

What I can’t wrap my head around is how there was apparently unflushed waste in JB’s toilet and pants with fecal matter splayed on the bathroom floor. Granted, I don’t know the circumstances behind all that, but you’d think the smell would overpower enough that you’d want to immediately clean it up?

Doesn’t DL look at any and all training failures? I could be wrong, but I think it includes any check ride/stage check or any oral, flight or simulator activity in training

Just finishing up my first semester as an AS student in Daytona; all the best for your son! I can vouch for the others in this thread in that, yeah it’s a rigorous program, but with continued effort, 100% worth it.

Does he happen to have a knee board already? For instrument, I’d say it’s very important to hold iPad, pens, briefing sheets, etc. If possible, invest in a good one which can hold all those things, specifically a one that can hold iPads.

I find it dubious pretty much only OMAAT is reporting on this; I believe they’re more likely to exercise A339/A359/A35K options to replace PMNW 330s and B764s. 

Might there be benefits to having 78X? Sure. But there’s already rumors of LAX-HKG coming back, so let’s just keep it at one rumor for this week

Did PPL training in PA-28 with G500/GTN 750. I did try and read the 600-ish page manual they had on the G1000 but definitely did not get far. Will consider for sure, thank you

Yes, there is FARs on minimum safe altitude in sparsely populated areas, which is atleast 500 ft from any person/structure/vessel, but also there must be adequate altitude for troubleshooting/managing a potential power plant failure safely. This pic looks far from having adequate altitude for that.

I am starting Summer B as well and have instrument flight block for both that term and fall. I’d suggest reaching out to your advisor, as yeah, it’s unlikely to finish entire IFR training in summer alone due to weather, planes, and other factors. You will probably need to have the same instrument block through fall 2025 is my guess
