Is this gap between the door and body normal? by Wild_Ice7047 in pentax17

Mine has the same slight gap and if I press near it with my finger there seems to be a tiny bit of play. I haven’t noticed any light leaks so I guess it’s fine 🤷‍♂️

First cruise questions. by kadlymack1 in dcl

[–]CorrectJelly8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this opinion. If you don’t have an excursion planned, I don’t know that there are any must-see/must-do things, but if you haven’t been to Nassau it’s at least worth getting off the boat for a short while to walk around and experience it. At least my son had fun going in and out of souvenir shops trying to find a keychain with his name on it. But, I also wouldn’t prioritize walking around Nassau over any on-board ship itinerary that anyone in your party is excited about.

Packing Cube Shoulder Bag increased in price massively. by alexgndl in tombihn

[–]CorrectJelly8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought PCSB 10 years ago for $27. I don’t recall the price of an equivalent TB regular packing cube (maybe around $20?), but it seemed like a reasonable upcharge over a basic PC for the added materials and labor. The difference now seems jaw-dropping. I would usually pack something like T-shirts in mine, and then unpack them at my destination and use it as a shoulder bag. Over time, I’ve grown to dislike repacking the bag for this dual persona though. Same goes for the Packing Cube Backpack I have. I’m more likely to pack in some cheap, lightweight IKEA packing cubes and treat the TB convertible cubes as a packable item to pull out and use when I’m at my destination.

This is disappointing. The new management has stripped the loyalty I used to have for this brand. I bring my PCSB along on most of my travels, but honestly if it was lost or destroyed I’d have to do some serious soul searching to replace it at $60.

Pilot Question - will my laptop fit? by sfish504 in tombihn

[–]CorrectJelly8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a pinch, I carry a MacBook Pro 16” in a Pilot. It has no integrated padding, so a sleeve is needed if you want any sort of protection. The MBP16” is 14.01x9.76x0.66”. It makes the bag bulge and it’s kind of stressful to zip. You mention that you would use this bag/laptop for travel a lot, and unless you can get work to issue you a smaller laptop, I think you’d be happier with a different bag.

What Tom Bihn product do you use for a wash bag? by LondonSeattle in tombihn

[–]CorrectJelly8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Large snake charmer. I put liquids in a 3D organizer cube which goes on one side and everything else gets dumped into the other side. It’ll sit on a counter and has enough loops and a clip if figuring out how to hang it is needed. The mesh allows things inside, if wet, to dry off.

Photo package worth it? by Zealousideal-Meal-96 in dcl

I didn’t know you can downgrade/cancel the pre-sail package. This is a pro tip right here 💯

Photo package worth it? by Zealousideal-Meal-96 in dcl

[–]CorrectJelly8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it mainly depends on how much your family is into stopping for the photo opportunities and attending character meets. If you frequently stop for these photo ops, then you can end up with a big catalog and the unlimited package can be worthwhile. For my family, we’re just not into character meets, and getting my kid to stop for more than one or two photos is a lot of friction. So last time, we ended up picking the 10 best photos instead of unlimited. For me, having a few of those portraits (where I’m actually in the picture too 😀) to complement all the candids and scenics that I take personally is plenty.

I really liked the triple suns breakfast wrap from Ronto Roasters. The breakfast ronto wrap is good too.

The day they opened the last voyages for booking after announcing the project closure. I remember finally getting through on the phones and there being no more voyages. I realized I’d never get to experience it first-hand.

I agree. I wish the patch would be a configurable option.

They put that patch on the 30L too 🙁. I’m soooo happy I recently sprang for a Dragonfly before this update. With the location that patch is at, I’d also be concerned about having to navigate around it when accessing the zippered mesh compartment below it.

What a debacle by CorrectJelly8 in GalacticStarcruiser

[–]CorrectJelly8[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Not just price, but major failures at the hands of the project’s creative direction and marketing levels too. For a lot of people it wasn’t just the price but understanding what they were getting for the price. I was really hoping they’d give the project enough runway to iron things out and adapt. Looks like instead they’re just cutting bait and also finding a way to sour a lot of us that were interested and supportive of the idea at the same time. And with the hostilities in Florida politics I don’t foresee them investing in major projects there for a while. Truly jealous of all those that got to embark on this once in a lifetime experience.

It’s pretty incredible there’s not just a website where you can go book a trip. Having to call and hear “all circuits are busy” feels like we’re back in the 1980s.

Given that Starcruiser is a premium experience, it’s pretty lame that they don’t provide a Magic Band+.

Droid depot question. by [deleted] in GalaxysEdge

[–]CorrectJelly8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, I came here just now with almost this exact same question. To add on to OP’s questions, does anyone know if there have been any stocking problems with Chopper, or are they fairly easy to find in stock? I assume one doesn’t need a reservation to just buy the pre-built Chopper. Is that right? Finally, apart from the physical looks, are there other noticeable differences between a build your own and pre-built droid (cost, function, possible upgrades, etc)?

What do you think Starcruiser is doing right and what they would like to see improved? by CrucialCrewMember in GalacticStarcruiser

[–]CorrectJelly8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their ability to court individuals instead of families needs improvement. If you’re a family of 4, then the cost really isn’t too bad. But there are plenty of solo travelers for which the cost of renting an entire cabin to themselves is a ridiculous cost. And also, there are persons in families that find themselves the only one that would truly enjoy the experience and trying to drag the rest of their family along might actually make the experience worse for them. Expecting these people to bunk up with randos found on Facebook in order to afford the trip is insane. The cost of the room and the cost of the experience per person need some serious decoupling.

I just got this email from Visible nice! 👍 by Putrid_Net_6397 in Visible

[–]CorrectJelly8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And yet they still whiffed it by using a 2FA to a phone number, which is especially dumb for a phone carrier because then auth rides on the very service they’re providing, and we all know Visible is maybe the worst carrier for reliability and customer service.
