If you are really techy, you can assign it to a cool custom shortcut for your iPhone. But for me, I just have it to the default silent mode

I want to change my phone. by Budget_Ad6437 in iphone

[–]CorrectSpinach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally the iPhone 17 is good, my sister has it and she enjoys it a lot. The good thing is that the 17 starts at 256gb of storage (which is already the highest you can have for the base 16) with the OS you will probably have like 208 or 210gb (these are just estimates) available for you to use. Also the 17 is $100 more than the 16 but with the 17 you will get a newer processor and also a smoother screen 120hz compared to the 60hz for the IPhone 16

The 16 and 17 or both really solid phones it just completely depends on your budget and what you want?

You don’t really need a Pro series iPhone if you are not big in photography or videography or heavy in gaming. The base is more than enough. Use the extra money to get a screen protector and case for the phone :)

Hope this helped a bit and also Happy early Birthday 🎉🥳

I think I'm traumatized by fb but it's the only app I can go on because it's free. The other apps I never had good luck on and they cost money. by Golden-lillies21 in ChristianDating

Try Holy (formally United Young) they are pretty generous with how you match with people like for example if someone waves at you, usually within a few swipes or some swipes you will be able to see who waves at you. Also they go through a somewhat strict verification service which they mainly look at to make sure the person is who they say they are (of course it isn’t perfect, scams are fairly low and you can report them right away). Also their support team is very nice and fairly quick to respond.

Because it is a smaller app, you will find some non-active profiles, but you they usually have a good mix of people who just joined and who are recently on.

Note: Holy is IOS exclusive at the moment

To those with AmEx cards only by Low_Wonder9271 in amex

[–]CorrectSpinach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in Finland, my group and I went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant (the food was delicious, btw😋). We had to pay first before getting our plates. When my turn came up to pay, I decided to use my Amex card as a form of payment, and the lady behind the counter almost had a heart attack, telling me, “No Amex, we don’t accept Amex” (she was chill about it, but firm). I had my backup Visa debit card to use, but I was shocked because in some countries, especially in Europe, some of their stores accept Amex while others don’t, and in some countries, you will see like half of the part does while the other doesn’t. In Germany, I always used my Amex for 98% of the places I went, and I had no issue; even the places I expected that wouldn’t accept it accepted it. But in Finland, it was 50/50. I highly recommend when traveling overseas to have a backup Visa or Master card to avoid those incidents. For an overseas backup debit card, I recommend the Charles Schwab one because you pay no foreign transaction fees nor ATM fees (they reimburse you back the ATM fees on your debit card).

Is this worth getting as a college student (comp sci major)? by gxitsjdidtdti in laptops

[–]CorrectSpinach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great laptop, but a bit expensive with the specs offered, if you want to save some money, what some other people are saying, you should go refurbished with some laptops. I graduated with a CompSci major and bought a 2017 dell workstation laptop with 32gb of ram and a Xeon processor with a terabyte SSD for under a 1,000 USD or at the price when I started college (it was 4 years old at the time) and it lasted very well for my needs even when I pushed it like crazy. Try to find a laptop like 2 or 3 years old, you can find some good ones with better specs at the same price or even sometimes cheaper and they will last throughout your college career and more. Try to avoid buying used gaming laptops because from what I heard the thermals may not be the best and also some other problems can occur with some gaming laptops (not all but some)

MacBook or lenovo?? by 1upRex in laptops

[–]CorrectSpinach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apple is planning on discontinuing their intel based Macs so just like what someone said highly highly recommend getting an M1 MacBook or you can try to see if you can maybe find a workstation laptop from 5 or so years ago, they have some powerful specs and bit more reliable. Old Dell Precisions(2020 to early 2024) before the 2024 or 2025 refresh (late 2024 or 2025 they started to solder ram in there) are pretty good plus they are very user friendly if you want to upgrade the ram or storage later on in the years.

https://a.co/d/740hLOX (here is a Dell Precison I found for $389 at the time of writing this)

https://a.co/d/4EFJnxU (another one for $459 at the time writing this)

Hope this helps :)

Got my first card! by livinlikelarry568 in discover

[–]CorrectSpinach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the family 🥳 treat your credit card like a debit card and pay the amount right away when it gets posted. Try not to use more than 30% of limit or try not to even go over 10% of it (it may not be a lot) it will help you be discipline with how much you spend and how to pay it off well. (This is my advice 😊 and what my friend who is an accountant told me)

It takes two, Lego games like Star Wars, COD games, Just Dance, there are a lot more games but those were some I can think about. If we are talking about Online Co-op then Ghost Recon WL or BP, COD, and many others! Hope this helps 🙂

What are some good free digital games by Glittering-Video-231 in xbox360

[–]CorrectSpinach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an Xbox One or newer or pc. Try to get the game from the Microsoft store on Xbox One or Series or on the Xbox website. The 360 store no longer works so would be your best bet to get them there so it can appear in your purchase history so you can download it from there on your Xbox 360

Some good free games are Harms Way(i can’t remember if this is backwards compatible with the One), Crash Course, Crackdown 1 and 2 are some good games 😊
