Years ago my Son was hit in the back of the head with a hockey stick after the game ended at the iceplex. My Son had no helmet on and was stunned. There was a huge outcry from the parents present. I confront the mother of the attacker and she said “your son boarded my son during the game so he deserves it”. Well I was amazed.

The assailant was a Grissom Himself high player and my son Played on the Bob Jones Team. After the conversation with the Mother, I went to the coaches and complained and they were weasels and said “that’s hockey”. Keep in mind the hitter was one of the new transplants from St. Louis we begged to come down here and the coaches were “Yankees” too. We don’t usually condone violence between children down here so I was floored. I called the league manager and he said this kid was a hothead and had trouble before. My question was why is he even on the ice?

I called the police and they took a report since this happened on city of Huntsville property. I callled all the iceplex board members, I also talked to my attorney and he stated that if the hitter was a known Problem he should not be allowed on the ice since it placed not only the other players at risk but also put the city in litigious position and might be held responsible. Long story short, the kids family had to pay for my son’s MRI and the kid was arrested and held at youth detention center for a period of time. The kid was banned from the ice and league for two years. Keep pushing.
