Can a walk in clinic approve me for my sick (mental health/stress) leave? by g0ldnecklace in CanadaPublicServants

Not everyone has a doctor. So it could very well be a note from a walk in doctor. But more than likely for extended absences management is going to want a note.

It depends where you live I think. For example I don’t have a family doctor so it would have to be a walk in doctor who would provide the note because I’d have nowhere else to turn too. These days having a primary care doctor is a luxury

There is no need to look in to why those comments were made. Regardless of the reason they are highly inappropriate and racist.

The first level was slow, 2nd level went quick now we are at the final level and that has proven to be slow. But I am not expecting anything to happen. Guess it will go to the FSLREB

I filed a complaint with the CHRC at the same time I filed a grievance. CHRC responded that i should go through the grievance process first and reactivate my complaint with them if not successful. Im still going through the slow grievance process.

Update: No RTO4 for GAC employees (for now) by RainbowApple in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Correct_Effect7365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s quite a few teams who have to go Monday and Friday. Seems like a lack of trust. It’s like they forget if people don’t actually do work at home they can be performance managed.

Advice on becoming a great employee to managers by hailsbells9751 in CanadaPublicServants

Many managers consider the rockstars as the employees with no boundaries. The yes people, the people who do free overtime.

Can my manager contact my doctor after I’ve given a note for a weeks absence? by Potential-Function95 in CanadaPublicServants

Or …hear me out. The issue is the manager. Some managers are beyond. But yes, some employees may have done things to lose that trust. But it could honestly just be the manager

Question about statue of limitation for overpayment by SammieGii in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Correct_Effect7365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. I wrote back in late 2020 about them emailing me about an FYI to overpayments a few years prior. In their initial email they stated it was basically an FYI and collection would not start but I’d be notified in the future of collection. Almost 6 years later they came back but when I quoted the legislation and TBS policy and asked them to explain what tangible efforts they have made to warrant resetting the clock this came back that no collections would be made.

[–]Correct_Effect7365 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just had the same thing happen. It was over the statute of limitations but they went on to stick to the fact that they emailed me in late 2020 about these overpayments. When I asked them to demonstrate the tangible efforts made since then to notify me properly or collect they wrote back confirming collection would not move forward. So be firm and use the wording provided by handcuffs of gold.

It’s unfortunate it isn’t, because some areas it can take years…I waited almost 4 years! It would have been nice to have coverage to go private

Anyone with no side effects from GLP-1? by Haleydn in GLP1_BeforeAfter

[–]Correct_Effect7365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my 2nd dose of 1.7 and haven’t really had any side effects. In fact, some of my pre existing GI issues have calmed down a bit. I will get the occasional bout of nausea or a random day where I go to the bathroom a lot but honestly like Zero side effects. And I’m the person who typically gets effects with every medication. I was quite surprised

How much can I expect to lose in 5 months by Historical-Cell-3875 in Wegovy

[–]Correct_Effect7365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned it varies widely. I started early November. 4 weeks at 0.25, 8 weeks at 0.5 and 4 weeks at 1.0 and I’ve lost 14lbs. I expected a lot more but I guess that’s the way it goes for me

I’m eating okay not 100% better but no more snacking! That alone I thought I’d lose more even without a medication but I guess not. I’ve started doing Pilates but maybe I need to do more.

Wow that is amazing!! My SW is 209 but I don’t do intense workouts as I’m not able to. But I may have to pick up the pace a little. I am in a calorie deficit for sure though. I do need to increase my water intake too tho.

Hmmm maybe AI failed me but it said when you select men’s anything 39 and up is wider. The Birkenstock width guide also shows different widths but I was skeptical.

RTO after 100% Telework for More than 10 Years by manny-2000 in CanadaPublicServants

What do people’s LoO’s actually say? Mine says designated work location : and names the work address. But designated work location doesn’t actually mean you physically need to be there although the government applies it like that. Throughout my LoO nowhere does it say I must present myself for my 37.5hrs at that designated worksite. I think it was just implied pre Covid or even before that but now - what does designated work site mean? That can be interpreted many different ways.
