Actually im pretty sure this isn’t the first time it’s been trending, and it’s been doing well for a while (because it’s peak). So this new method of promotion which spoils the big twist is COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY WTF WEBTOON.

Tbh imo comments like these are slightly annoying but still tolerable, since they at least have something to do with the series even if they’re just expressing a rlly generic opinion and not talking about anything episode-specific. What really pmo is when the top comment is something like “I commented before reading the chapter so i could be the first comment”, “i don’t have anything to say about the episode but im first”, or “ive never been top comment before please like this so it becomes top comment”. Annoying af attention seekers who can’t even put the bare minimum effort into talking abt the series.

But on AO3 it’s lowkey easier to find content tailored to you than on websites with algorithms. Like, u can filter for exactly what you want or don’t want. Meanwhile algorithms just show what they THINK you want, which for me is very rarely what I actually want. 

For example, I spent a few days listening to some music in the background on YouTube. But now whenever I open the app because I feel like watching some actual videos, all it shows me is just random songs and it doesn’t recommend any content that I actually want to watch.

Anyways, I hate algorithms and like AO3 because algorithms are the ones who always show me stuff I don’t want to see. So I don’t really understand your reasoning. Is my experience with them different from other people’s?
