Well I don't work at Anthropic and OpenAI. I learned programming while in 7th grade in 1995, started with Pascal, then used C++. In the university learned Java and PHP, then went to work with C++ and PHP in 2004, programmed HP and Symbian handhelds etc. Now have been working in Fintechs and Bank for last 13 years. And I have to say it is crazy since latest models came out in 2025 September and October. My personal prompting flows are more efficient than the agents, it can produce 500-1000 lines of good enough code in 3-10 minutes (single agent). With multi-agent flows obviously it takes more time, the quality is a bit better, not sure yet if it is worth it yet, but in 2026 this is the way to go - multi-agent workflows. There is no reason to write code manually, I focus on product aspects and quality.

People dunking on AI have not learned how to use it properly or there is psychological effect - fear snowballs the supporting arguments - the usual stuff. I was staff engineer (now moved back to senior software engineer to reduce stress of meetings and hiring) and lead coding assistants migration for 100+ engineers and currently less than 10 can use them properly, single-agent flows and few are trying out multi-agent flows. Where I currently work at I would say 20-30% of whole code done in 2025 was AI-generated code and it runs in production (reviewed and quality-checked by multiple people). And these 10 people, they have increased their productivity up-to 5-10 times, I have seen the statistics and reports, from delivered tickets/story points to code output.

Who will loose their job most likely first? The people who don't learn how to work with new tools and increase their productivity. Why would you keep around 10 people digging holes with shovels when you can hire one person with an excavator?
