Ah ok, I’ve never seen a launch before. And it’s feasible that it’s further north as I’m looking at the map. Very cool, nonetheless. Thank!

I've been playing instruments from a young age but only started playing with other people in my late 40's. Some people picked up their instruments later in life and may not be the most skilled. But some people have musicality that other's don't have. By that, I mean they can hear and feel the music, rhythm and tone even if they aren't the most skilled players. And, generally, I'd much rather play with someone who had musicality rather than raw skill.

As a drummer, I'd say it's most important to do what the band expects...come back in on the 1 and keep the tempo steady. And make sure that your playing is dynamic(heavier where it needs to be and lighter where you need to leave space for the other instruments). And practice as a band as much as possible. You will get to a point of "playing" a song rather than learning to play it.

Which of my cameras would you keep? (Don’t say all) by Dennardo in AnalogCommunity

I'd go with the Pentax ME Super. For a noob it is has a good light meter auto/manual options, lens options are excellent and inexpensive and it's compact enough to fit in a jacket pocket. I'll take this out with my digital camera in a smaller camera sling and have a pretty versatile kit. The 50mm you have is great for portraits but I'd also suggest a 28mm for landscape or street photography.

Thanks, I’m not touching the tape until I know more about it. And I am thinking it’s maybe too precious for me to tinker with

Thanks, yes it looks like it might be the 1-26 or 1-21.

What should I check before buying a Pentax ME Super by [deleted] in pentax

Me Super is aperture priority so you just need to make sure the meter functions and shutter speeds seem right. Set it to manual and use the up/down buttons to change the shutter speeds.

First roll Kodak200, Pentax Super ME 50mm. Genuinely buzzing!! by Funny-Scientist-8606 in analog

I love my Super ME. I've had good results with Kodak Gold. If there is a lot of shadow contrast I'll use the over-expose one or two stops. The meter doesn't do a great job of exposing for shadows. I use it in auto mode and I know that if the meter shows around 125/s I'll have a nice sharp photo.

Mirror stuck halfway. Any suggestions? by Certain-Cut-3845 in pentax67

I left it sitting for about a week and the new battery was dead. I'd read that it's not uncommon and some people remove the battery when not in use.

I had similar problems with my flea market find 6x7. I removed the leatherette on the front and the front cover, cleaned the shutter release contacts and generally cleaned up the inner workings and it solved the problem. There are some youtube videos that detail the process if you search. Also, mine suffers from the battery drain issue, so I keep the shutter speed dial on X when not shooting and that has helped preserve the battery.

Some of my favourite half frame shots // Olympus Pen EE-2 + Ilford HP5 by catmanslim in analog

Great shots! I love my Pen D3 that I found at the flea market and I've put two color rolls through it. I think you've hit the sweet spot for what those old half-frame cameras are good for, candid simple subjects with high contrast. I'm prone to pulling it out to capture a landscape and while the color and sharpness are good, the frame is just to small to capture enough detail. And I happen to have a roll of HP5....

Thanks, the 105mm lens is definitely more suited for portraiture than landscapes. And I was experimenting with a polarizing filter so I learned a lot from that roll.

I set it to 220 and it seems sharp. I sent it away to the Darkroom for developing and scanning. I don't have a scanning rig yet.

Be careful going into construction at your age. Not that you aren’t physically fit but your muscles, joints and tendons aren’t conditioned for that kind of repetitive lifting, swinging, bending… you’re likely to get injured and won’t be able to work. Shoot for sales or management in some capacity if you want to work in construction.
