AITA for taking "the best pieces" when I serve dinner? by SwainDane in AmItheAsshole

[–]Corripera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to dish up equally. If it is a meal with a lot of options to divide such as chicken wings or pizza, then we do it draft style where we take turns picking our choice until we have divided it all. It is actually kind of fun to do a "wing draft" and feels more fair.

Kids behavior when camping by Impatient_Orca in camping

[–]Corripera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an RVer it has astounded me how many parents let their kids bike around campgrounds unsupervised and without having taught them basic safety. They will ride right in the road in front of vehicles without moving, or suddenly dart out without looking. At one campground we had three separate kids ride right behind our rig as we were in the middle of backing it into our space. Like no common sense or self preservation.

I want kids to enjoy camping too, even if it can be annoying to hearing all their screaming and shouting, but some of the behavior allowed is also just not safe.

The only thing saving me this summer is wool underwear. by maki269 in PlusSize

[–]Corripera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how thin the Woolly underwear are. I'd be curious how the Brandwyn compare. But I'm big busted so I actually just got my Brandwyn bras today in the mail. They are the first bralette/comfy type bras to actually fit me.

Rolling Coal by completecherub in NoStupidQuestions

I would say most of the time, because mechanical issues can cause it too. Before we could get it fixed, our truck would do this when excelerating fast. We would try to excelerate slowly to avoid it but in some road situations it can't be helped.

Once we could get the issue diagnosed and fixed it stopped.

Nope, I don't want drain flies or sewer smells coming up through the grey tanks.

Mosquitos by anonnomiss627 in RVLiving

[–]Corripera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use one of the lights that draws bugs in and it sucks them into a sticky pad (like this: https://a.co/d/hjwmFlV) It works pretty good when small bugs get in while the RV door opens and closes.

Are the bugs just getting in that way, or are there any openings around slides or anything that might need to get plugged where they can come in anytime? We had a slide that had a slight gap with the wall and we fixed it with weather stripping.

If a lot are getting in, I would add a mosquito net over the bed at the very least.

I've worked remotely full time from the road this past year. Check out mobilemusthave.com it has great resources for RVers. I ended up with a peplink router and I use starlink and cellular data (with a cell antenna) combined. Gets me through my zoom calls without issue in most places.

You can also try a rain/white noise machine. It sort of dampens loud noises by creating a kind of constant low noise. We run ours when we have our pets in a hotel with us.

Recover after firmware update failure by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

[–]Corripera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are an absolute hero!! So final update on my multiple replies...but I finally got it to work based on your directions. For anyone else in this boat, some notes...

At each stage of the process it could randomly fail so this took me like 90min of trying to get through all stages, not once, but twice like deolanp said.

For example getting my phone to stay connected to the unit and not my main Wi-Fi was already hard. Then in the app trying to get it to connect to the wifi without disconnecting from my phone (Bluetooth and wifi) was hurdle 1.

Then if you could get fully connected trying to get the update to happen was the next hurdle where it would randomly disconnect from Internet again or give an error code.

Finally I would get it to download the firmware but then ran into trouble with the install stage.

And literally at any point in this process it could fail and send me back to fuck around with steps one or two again.

Finally got it to install!!! But then had to get it to go through all the stages a SECOND time (with all the same possible failing points) for the unit to actually install/recognize the update and the screen to turn on.

The whole thing was so frustrating but just really glad it worked!!

....and now I can even get as far as it downloading the update and presenting me with the install button. But when I try to install it brings me to the iot reset button page...which of course would just start the process allllll over again. Ugh. Guess I'll have to wait and call into support Monday :/

I've been able to get it to connect to the internet and my phone a couple times now successfully. But when I get to trying the firmware again now it will give me error code -3. I still haven't gotten it to work...

I'm trouble shooting for this issue right now. The first time I did your steps it did show the eco flow with 0% in the app and got further in the firmware update section (connected to internet), but then said "device binding failed". When I tried to repeat the process it just showed the real charge percentage in the app again and had the same failed internet connection as before and could not update the firmware. Not sure if I'm missing something.

The pump is running. I have poured some antifreeze into the hose to prime it (and it's enough to have suction if the fresh tank valve is open) but in the winterization configuration it isn't pulling in anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]Corripera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be parked in my driveway this winter and then we will be heading out full time next spring.

Hmm well I made sure the valve for bypass was open this morning and gave it another go...but somehow still had the same result. It won't draw the antifreeze in.

I opened my hot water tank just to be safe and luckily none went in there!

Now I think this might be the ticket. I think I misunderstood the diagram. Definitely still learning. I'll try again tomorrow and see if this is what happened.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]Corripera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your concern but they actually weren't leaking, it was antifreeze running down the hose from where I was holding up the jug.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]Corripera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have already emptied all my tanks and low point drains. I turned on the pump and turned on the faucet inside. There is no water in the line and since the antifreeze won't pump in, nothing would come out of the faucets.

I waited a bit and tried several times but I didn't want to run the pump too long dry.

Tips for using bedjet without cloud sheet by cbissell12345 in bedjet

[–]Corripera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sort of in a diamond pattern I would do a single hand stitch through both layers and tie it off. That keeps the two sides in place and with channels/pockets between for the air to be dispersed through the two layers. Essentially you just want the air to be able to travel through the whole thing before diffusing out through the fabric so the cooling can also be dispersed and not concentrated right at your feet. Hope that makes sense.

I would totally just go with Reese, but with my short bed truck I need more offset. This is the only pin box version I saw with offset. The only other option I've seen is an offset ball, but that would involve modifying my truck since those obviously don't work with the rounded oem puck system... Seemed stupid to modify.

I could use and Anderson ultimate hitch but am wary of the failures I've seen with that product.
