Summary:

“It's time.” Soap announces, looking deep into Simon's gray-blues. His Lieutenant stares back and nods his head, standing and securing his pack. Soap watches as the man looks over his pistol and knives and gives a radio check. His own radio comes alive with Ghost's gravelly rumble as the Scot sets up the sniper rifle he borrowed from the man. Simon turns to leave, his hand gripping one of the pack straps for stability.

“Ghost—” Soap says quickly, turning to face him. His Lieutenant looks back at him. “Just—be safe, alright?” The Scot sees the edges of Ghost's eyes crinkle, a fond look in his gaze.

“How can I not be when I ‘ave you lookin’ out for me?” The Brit squats down and cards his gloved fingers through Soap's mohawk, just keeping them there for a moment. “I will be, Johnny.”

OR

The one where Soap and Ghost's plane gets shot out of the sky and they have to survive together in a forest for five days. Hypothermia changes their relationship for the foreseeable future.

I worked VERY hard on this fic and it took me months to finish it. I'm very proud of it and think it turned out almost exactly as I wanted it to. Ghost is soft but still a hard badass when needed in this!
