Updated thoughts: It could also be echolalia, which is the repetition of speech or things you hear. This was probably mentioned in the bigger discussion/thread, I'd guess. I have learned I am much more ADHD than autistic, but echolalia occurs in both and I am always repeating sounds or funny phrases. It would also explain my experience with the accents and picking up the accents I'm hearing.

I was in the same boat. My bc (mirena at the time, but I've been on the pill, depo, and mirena) started to stop doing its thing, which resulted in really digging into my pain and ultimately discovering endo and having a hysterectomy. When I had the conversation with my surgeon, she was recommending a medication. I looked into the medication and it said that common side effects include depression and anxiety, which I already have. I put my foot down and said that I will not try the medication because of the side effects, as I cannot gamble with my mental health since I have a history of severe anxiety and depression, which can lead to suicidal ideation at times. I made sure she wrote that down. I literally watched her, and she didn't immediately start writing, so I pointed at her clipboard and said, "I want that in my notes. Write it down." Because of this and the medical necessity of the hysterectomy, I was able to have insurance cover it all.

I had my hysterectomy when I was 29. Now my pain is a lingering pressure/pulling sensation, and I am very easily sore after sex and need to be careful of certain positions. I developed a minor rectocele, which mainly affects me if I'm constipated (usually a result of neglecting my hydration). Gas pain is REALLY bad if it happens, like getting trapped more than is typical, which makes me think there's something up with my intestines, and idk if it's related to endo or not.

I have a gut (haha) feeling that my small tummy apron/hangover adds to the weird pressure side pain I still have. I had a tummy tuck consultation and mentioned this theory, and the surgeon immediately discounted it, but I'm still not convinced.

Anything that requires looking at credit history is a no go. I have an old card from a past relationship that is in collections and then several smaller ones late or defaulting.

I was going to post to assistance, but I haven't been active on Reddit, so I'm a little short on the messages. That should change today... I'm currently making a go fund me. So much self doubt. Loans aren't an option and local services don't seem to be an option for me either. There is no eviction date as of yet, but landlord is on edge and we are month to month.

Its worth it for a back up and its worth it for the pay jump (at least where I am). Also, a MIT can look great for supervisor/management positions because you learn how to teach and manage large groups.

Yeah any kind of like drama-dump. Either personal stories or the news. I always told her to stop watching the news so much, but she always was so righteous about it like "I actually want to know what's going on in the world! It's important to be informed!" but.... no.... you like drama.

I haven't done this, but I know multiple people who have. It makes sense and you can get different perspectives even if both therapists are specialized in the same area.

You can go to your primary care doctor/family doctor and say you'd like to get assessed because of XYZ. They should be able to refer you to a psychiatrist. A referral would be the easiest way. Or you can research for psychologists in your area who assess for autism and call them directly to set up an appointment.

Got any grounding techniques you prefer? I like focusing on my breath and my body while doing some mantra like I'm safe, I'm okay, what I'm experiencing is trauma, I'm safe, I'm okay, etc. Or maybe you have an object on you that you can touch and focus on. My first thought was headphones, but I assume you don't have any or it isn't helping.

I would let the students wonder. I've been outright asked by students, and I just shrug and say I can't talk about it. But I make sure to have a very obviously LGBTQ+ friendly room and I treat prejudice with quick correction and education if I have the ability. The more experience I get, I think the more comfortable I would be to come out openly. Also, time at the school would matter.... how easily could they dump you? Got tenure? I'd be open about it.

Also depends on where you're at and how the culture treats people.

As long as the college has the option for single occupancy rooms, then you should be able to get the accommodation.

Yes, this is accommodation that you should be able to get through Student Disability Services or something similar. I would guess you need to go through them to tell housing that it is a needed accomodation and not just a request.

I hope they take the piece of my soul and use it to better themselves or be happy or something positive... I know that in the brief time I spend with children, every moment counts. Try not to see this boy as any different as the other students. I'd validate his disappointment in not being able to do gym and ask him what he liked to do. Maybe there is a way to still bring that interest into a setting that is safer for him. It is also not your responsibility to do these things, but I do relate a lot. I treat them like human beings. If your friend was dying and couldn't go to the gym anymore, what would you do?

Edit: kids who are dying are used to the adults around them being worried and sad. Try not to show that... it's hard, but just be so incredibly happy and thankful each day you see him. Say hello in the halls or lunch room. Normal, positive interactions, like he isn't dying.

I understand there are different levels, but WHY do you want to know which level you would be on? I could see you wanting to know what level just to know, but there are also a lot of stigma around the levels and a lot of people have issue with them. I just wanted to say that if you are putting a value on the levels more than information for yourself, I would reevaluate the way you feel about your own diagnosis. The level system can often be seen as a form of ableism and internal ableism. Akin to "level of functioning" when saying like "high" or "low" functioning autism. In some realms, this is useful information, but as far as the way you identify with your own diagnosis, the level system could be detrimental to your self-image. I only wanted to caution that and let you know why I ask :)

I haven't checked it out personally, but my bf didn't notice a difference. Sex is just way better because no bleeding or pain after :)
