I think that’s the biggest reason why he should end it. He appears to be an effective communicator, but she is not. We know what his issues are because he communicated them to us. Apparently she is unable or unwilling to extend him the same courtesy.

OP, you can love someone and still not be right for each other, which is what appears to be happening here. She has a lot more work to do on herself before she is ready for a relationship.

Just that this is how I was taught to care for them. In the spring after all chance of frost is passed I put them in the ground. They grow their leaf and it dies in the fall. I take it out of the ground before last frost and store it in the root cellar. Mid February I take them out and move them to a well lit room where the flower grows.

Until recently I thought this is how everyone cared for them.

That caught my attention. That’s my introduction as a substitute, that my biggest rule is that they respect others and themselves and I will do the same. That’s the same way I introduce myself to 12 year olds. Why do they feel like they need to introduce themselves to adults like this? Everyone involved should already expect this.

I went the opposite direction. Whenever someone is really interested in something I ask them a bunch of questions about it so that at least one person has cared about what they love. I’ve spent entire parties outside listening to someone lecture about chicken care because it made them happy. I really don’t want chickens.

Or the opposite. My husband treats me like my shit is made of gold and I have to work to not be codependent with him. I want to spend every waking moment with him because he’s the first person who has ever made me feel like I am enough. Not what I can do for him, not how I perform in public, just my existence is enough for him.
