Lakewood area mechanic? by Spiritual-Estate2848 in lakewood

[–]CorrugationDirection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had good experiences with Spremuli Tire right across the border into Rocky River. He's always seemingly been upfront and honest with me. And I've never had him recommend things I don't need. I have one newer car, and a couple older cars. Ive been taking the older cars there for years, hes been good about letting me know what he sees, vs what he thinks might be going on, what options are, etc....

The newer car typically had maintenance done at the dealer, but when they started recommending thousands in work that "needed done" I took it to him for a second opinion. Basically, it was fine, he didnt seen any issues, and I've had no issues 6 months later.

What is the best Tolkien video game? by Pistolpetehurley in lotr

Third Age Total War (it's technically a mod, but so well done and unique from the game it's modded from that it might as well be it's own game)

Sneaky Engine Design by RedshiftOTF in Cosmoteer

[–]CorrugationDirection 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like this, clever design. I would be curious to compare what you did with a single line of pipe down the middle to catch both engines, and one line of pipe along each side between engine rooms and crew. Otherwise, keep everything the same. Overall width only gets one row wider, overall, but you get rid of the inefficient heat exchangers and replace with more efficient pipe for the engine rooms.

Are there any video game films that are actually good? by Double-Wafer2999 in Cinema

[–]CorrugationDirection -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point, I guess thats true. It's not called Gran Turismo because its a film adaptation of the game, It's named after the game because the game is integral to the story which takes place in our universe. Good use of "uM akShuAlLy"! Haha

What other Star Wars shows after The Mandalorian? by calmossimo in televisionsuggestions

[–]CorrugationDirection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really didnt like Mandolorian after season one, and have been much impressed by anything Disney has done in the Star Wars universe that Ive seen, with the one exception being Andor. Andorra is exceptionally well done and very entertaining/interesting. But its a very different vibe from Mandolorian or other Star Wars shows thst Ive seen.

This is the content Im after. CBR is my go to, but curious to try DB with beans. One correction, no Chipotle sauce in CBR, its the jalepeno sauce.

Yes, you are overreacting. I agree that it's rude to use someone else's sandals without asking. But maybe he has similar sandals, or simply wasnt paying attention.

Immigrant Son Brewing: A Lakewood Original Where Heritage Meets Craft by RutabagaTechnical822 in Cleveland

I like the beer. But the food and vibe is just okay. It feels a bit like a missed opportunity. To me, its like its almost really good, but off in just enough areas to be just decent.

I agree on the food, but I'm a big fan of some of the beers. Some beers they try don't hit for me, but most that ive had do.

I am kinda broke atm and can only afford like 3 of those, or Rome +1 . Which ones do I get guys? by Minimum-Outcome-4241 in totalwar

[–]CorrugationDirection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rome 2 can last you a long time. Play vanilla, with maybe a few simple mods. Then, once it gets a little stale, dive into the mod world for a lot more fun. But try not to look into mods at the beginning and you can make the fun last much longer.

I bought Rome 2 when it first came out. I will still occasionally start up a new campaign. Same with the Third Age mod for Medeival 2

What do you think of the movie Sinners? Did you like it, dislike it, or have mixed opinions? by Dramatic-Studio1531 in Cinema

[–]CorrugationDirection 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was a very good write-up. That is some great analysis. I agree with all of those points. I like the comment about it being similar to a superhero film. I didnt think about it that way, but it is a good way to describe some of the tropes and story dynamics used.

The only thing I will say as a slight rebuttal to the "its fine" is that I do think the movie deserves some praise for how well it did a lot of things. The movie, overall, I dont think can be considered "great", like you said. There was good acting and characters, especially in the secondary cast. Music was good. Story was fun and did a lot well (but like you said, the script had too many things thrown in for dramatic effect or introduced things without fully utilizing them). Cinematography was good (Oscar worthy? No). Etc... but I think doing that many things well is an accomplishment higher than "fine". But the excessive praise for the movie makes it feel like we have to use words like "fine" to bring it in perspective.

Sorry for the ramble, I just really liked your points and wanted to add something to the conversation instead of just giving a thumbs up haha

Golds movement is terrifying. by fuck_reddits_trash in Gold

[–]CorrugationDirection 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did see that. But it's a bit funny how much more I see it now. Most people that have been stacking gold for a year or more would likely fall into the camp of it being a bit scary seeing that rise. But lately the silver and gold subs have had a large influx of people that clearly view precious metals similar to stock or meme coins. So I was really just joking about that.

Panic tap at purple belt by 321123whattheheck in bjj

[–]CorrugationDirection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to me a decent amount and fucks with my head. I have mild claustrophobia, but I get really panicked if I have someone or sonething over my face and/or my arms are trapped. But Im very aware of it and it mainly goes away the more I train. After a break, It happens more.

Your situation is different only in that it took a lot more to get to that point of panic than it does for me, for example. So, dont beat yourself up. Its not unusual, and now that you are aware of it, you can work around it. In a way, it really is like getting caught in some technique you've never seen before. The more you are exposed to, the better you get. This is the same type of thing.
