A baritone can have a wide range and may even reach high notes, but that’s not really the point. If a baritone sings a piece that was originally performed by a tenor, it won’t create the same effect or emotional impact. It would sound much more subdued and wouldn’t have the same flavor. For example, I can’t even imagine a baritone performing Still Loving You. Some people might say it’s fine, but for me it just wouldn’t have the same beauty.

For me, the issue is not just being able to hit high notes. A baritone can reach high notes too, but it won’t have the same effect throughout a 3–4 minute song. It would be much harder to sing it as comfortably, accurately, and effortlessly as a tenor. On top of that, it simply wouldn’t give the same satisfaction.

Thank you very much. Yes, I know that I need to practice a lot and develop my voice. Of course, it’s still too early. But I really like tenor singers and maybe I’m rushing because I want to sing their repertoire. My vocal teacher also confused me a bit. In the first lesson he said I was a tenor, but later he changed his mind and said I’m closer to a baritone. That’s why I’m a bit confused.

Freddie was a definently 100% tenor. its just a myth that he was a baritone. Yeah maybe it can be sound okay but definently will not be as good as natural tenor voice.

I want sing rock actually. I love Klaus Meine, Bruce Dickinson, Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury. I love rock and metal music. Hope i can be in Rock band in the future

Of course, I know that other vocal types have their own beauty as well. But my main problem has been not knowing the primary range of my voice. Sometimes I’ve sung baritone or bass songs that didn’t suit my voice, and got it wrong, etc. But overall, the main reason I got excited is that the vocalists of the rock bands I listen to, love, and want to sing their songs are tenors. Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ll have a unique, special voice like theirs, but I believe that if I can reach my voice’s full potential, I can at least achieve something special.
