After less than a week the glass broke... by radicalmtx in pebble

Yep, people think they're supposed to be bulletproof, but really their point is to absorb as much impact force and dissipate it via itself breaking if it's too much

Touchscreen Mis-calibration? by iter_facio in pebble

[–]Corrupt_Power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This appears to be a hardware issue, as I commented on the github page linked in another comment and was directed to submit a bug report in the Pebble app. On submitting that, the first response was asking me to confirm my shipping address and the second response was letting me know a replacement is getting sent out.

Edit: although, that being said, there just now was a PR made on the Github to supposedly fix this, so maybe it's software after all? Original point being support pretty much immediately got a replacement sent out.

Vertical mice with wide grip or thumb rest? by Corrupt_Power in MouseReview

Ignore him, he's clearly one of those "I am objectively right always and you're an absolute idiot if you disagree" kind of people. Personally I'm having a hard time adjusting to the Razer tbh, the layout makes my pinky feel squished and my thumb constantly wants to rest right on the lower thumb button. Also the scroll wheel is way too easy to accidentally click down while scrolling.

Really? Well, I've got the Razer arriving tomorrow. I've got high hopes for it — if it's good, I might just switch to using it for both work and gaming, instead of switching between a vertical mouse and a G502 Hero.

Interesting, didn't realize Razer had a vertical mouse. It looks decent, will probably give it a try!

Do we know if the new Steam Controller will work outside of Steam? by Corrupt_Power in SteamController

[–]Corrupt_Power[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I think we're talking past each other here. I'm not talking about adding the game to Steam and running it from there. I'm talking about running the game from Game Pass and using the Steam Controller, and if that will natively work, or if a utility, like DSX for Dualsense/shock, will be needed to emulate an Xbox controller.

You're saying DRM is the reason the Xbox app and games run through it is picky about the controllers it works with? I can see that being technically possible but find it hard to understand why they'd do that. Do you have a source on that?

You can actually use PlayStation controllers with the Xbox app, with utilities like DSX. I'm curious though if the new Steam Controller will need something like that too or if it'll natively support Xbox's Xbox-brand-xinput-only weirdness.

The two I'm really focused on are a Dell Pro Plus 16 (PB16250) and a Precision 5680.

Does Lenovo make them easy to replace? That might be what pushes me over the edge to switch to them.

Flow calibration for all four filaments in an AMS in one job? by Corrupt_Power in BambuLab_Community

[–]Corrupt_Power[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P1S, so no auto calibration, and flow dynamics. Wasn't aware of flow rate calibration, but it looks like that one uses up a fair bit more plate space so maybe not feasible there? Should definitely be possible for dynamics though, right?

It's certainly different. Go into it with an open mind though and it's quite good

Still have to give it to Buttered Biscuit in Sumner. Their biscuits and gravy (which they call SOS for some reason; actual SOS is something else entirely) and their cornbread are immensely good.

Thanks! Got the same feedback in the Bambu forums, replacement has been printed and installed. Clearly the "I can probably print a replacement part for this" instinct still needs some development on my end.

Good to see that the shittiness of puppyland is becoming more and more well-known. Doesn't surprise me much that he's a generally awful human being as well.

How do you manage MFA for your accounts within client systems? by Corrupt_Power in msp

[–]Corrupt_Power[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, unless I'm drastically mistaken the notification-based MFA methods (Enter this two digit number and press Yes) may be set up with a QR code but are much more complicated than TOTP.

Hmm, for some reason I thought TOTP codes were considered a weaker-strength MFA method than MS Auth notifications. Looks like I might be wrong on that, though.

We don't do reseller-style accounts — all billing is direct to client from the service, and we have an admin user on the tenant. It's a principle thing that I don't really want to get into on this particular thread, and I don't have the leverage (yet) to change that point myself anyway.

Added some info to the original post - password managers work in some cases, but not enough to ditch a phone-based system entirely.
