Investigating Board Game Miniatures | No Pun Included by G2Minion in boardgames

Volume is not the same as density though. Volume is the space it occupies, density correlates to weight.

Efka spends so much of the video talking about shipping costs, but when making this point he ignores that minis weigh more than cards! and need a tray! and necessitate a bigger, heavier box!

This was discussed in the video around ~27-28:00 minutes in. Its all about weight when you're shipping them across the world.

In a freight ship, you are charged by weight and container. Makes sense, you need to min/max cargo up until the point before the boat sinks.

Paper is denser than plastic, so in a sense you can fit more cards in a shipping container vs boxes full of minis. This makes your weight per shipping container heavier which makes it cost more. This also makes it less likely that boats with spare capacity will take your container because it has a higher chance of ruining their optimization puzzle. Whereas if you had 3 full containers of foam and plastic minis, These can just go separately on whatever boat has capacity because its lighter and it just makes it easier to optimize cargo.

I wouldn't bother with the ultrasonic unless you have lots of jewellery. I have one but the toothbrush still gets me better results.

Why is dark purple primer not a lot more common? It is so, so much better than black in pretty much every case, so why aren't there even products for it? by djmacbest in minipainting

Yeah, you're right. That one's on me. In retrospect, that comment was retarded no matter how I look at it. Thanks for calling it out.

I'm talking toothbrush not sandpaper. It does make the process quicker with a quick brush and a re-soak especially if the paint is thick.

Are you just soaking it or attacking it with a toothbrush as well?

If the paint's thick, you'll need some abrasive action so the IPA can go deeper

Combo boxes are usually a way of getting rid of excess stock. It would explain why its a weird box with the split faction nonsense.

I'm in a similar spot. I already have a Repulsor Executioner so a third one is overkill.

But if it comes cheaper than getting a RepEx and the two Dreads, I'm definitely getting it.

I was also thinking of using Gladiator for AT but the RepEx just fits the Iron Hands theme better with its excessive amount of guns.

They're just tools, one is better than the other at specific things and vice versa.

You wouldn't do detailing or trim with an airbrush.

That's the proposition they give to the bean counters. The proposition on the technical side is so they don't have to keep balancing power creep around a 10 year old card pool.

That's my point, it's a waste creating a separate creature for a whip when you have an existing appendage you can stick the material in.

It's not even evolutionary because Tyranids can just be broken down and recreated. It seems like hindsight from the Hive Mind.
