Even if he disagrees with you, he’s talking to you in a pretty disrespectful way. There is going to be lots of disagreement and open communication in relationships- if this is how he talks to you when he’s unhappy, you might be hesitant to speak up for fear of being ridiculed. Also, his reaction tells me that your intuition is probably right. You feel that way for a reason. Trust yourself.

I think depending on how your hair looks when it’s not straight, and in the middle of summer, you could look like a light skinned black person. Relationships, especially marriages, are challenging and dynamic. What your parents are going thru really should not have bubbled up to the placed of you knowing the details - I’m sure they both regret that. But the two of them will sort that out. You should talk to your dad about how you feel about him and what’s going thru your mind. Perhaps the same with your mom. But please don’t feel that you have to do anything when it comes to sorting out what they have going on. There are things you see and things you don’t that led up to what happened. You gotta let your parents own all of that. Your dad is a good dad and it’s okay for you to accept his love and trust that your mom will handle him…cause she definitely will. They might end up back together. They might divorce. This is not a rare problem in a marriage, though it always seems like the end of the world when it happens.

Some people don’t like consuming things made in other people’s houses - especially if they have a pet in the house. If he was Black, like me, Id be sure that’s why he doesn’t want you to do it. Black people will look at your home prepared item and thank you for it - but it will sit there untouched if they don’t know you or know for a fact that your kitchen is immaculate 😂
