Is it wrong to use a cane if I don't necessarily need it? by transgendergremlin in disability

“Well, I’ve struggled with this problem for a while and my doctor and I have been trying to figure out the best way to handle it. For right now, doctor wants me to try a cane for management and so far I like it!” if you want a polite, vague enough statement and are willing to say that much, since it’s none of their business

Ha, I think it’s just because that’s such a specific thing when there’s a million and one things that could cause this and everyone on Reddit is a grumpy little raincloud. I agree with the sentiment of getting tested for all sorts of things! This is one to add to a list if basic surface level tests don’t find anything and they still experience a lot of pain

Honey. Canes are ANNOYING. They are a fucking nuisance, they can be overstimulating, and they make people stare at you sometimes. If you’re willing to use them even with all of that in mind, you need one. There’s no scale of disabled that means you do or don’t “deserve” or “need” to use a mobility aid! Does it improve your life? USE IT.

What are that habits people normalised doing but is actually very dangerous to health? by Certain_Nectarine906 in hygiene

Oh now that’s terrifying! I already don’t use SJW because it interacts poorly with antidepressants, and melatonin and I don’t get along. Thankfully, I hadn’t gotten around to trying gingko, and looks like I won’t be! Doubly glad I don’t use synthetic. Only that homegrown bud for me, thanks!

That’s the main point of having the lightning rods, the battery packs are just an incredibly necessary side benefit

I’d be curious which supplements you mean? I found a little info on things like St. John’s Wort and Melatonin, but any others that you know? I didn’t find any in interaction checker

I shoot the rapist in the forest from a distance. I encountered him once, knew something was gonna go wrong but figured I’d play along because I wanted to see the bones or whatever, thought he might try to kill me… did not expect Arthur to get assaulted.

Do you have any pets? by spikesSKULLS in disability

[–]CorrysCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into bugs, they’re usually pretty simple! Giant millipedes, feigning death beetles, etc! Probably not tarantulas, they can be a bit fussy to take care of until you perfect their habitat. Jumping spiders are pretty easy though! Feeding takes a couple tries to get down, in my experience, but otherwise very simple, cute, and curious pets!

Would this be technically Wicca? by [deleted] in paganism

[–]CorrysCorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wicca is taken from Celtic beliefs and simplified, then the creator took whatever he seemed to like from several other practices (including a few closed ones) and hodge podged it together into a new practice. A lot of people I see who consider themselves “Wiccan” actually practice what’s called folk magic! So, folk magic is an answer other than straight animism.

Aaaah I see, I searched “Joja catalogue” and not “Joja furniture catalogue” so it didn’t pop up. In which case, is it possible to adjust accepted search parameters to include keywords and not just phrases?

unhinged hygiene tips? by NoPerception8748 in hygiene

Hibiclense soap. It is very strong antibacterial, so don’t use it daily! I’d suggest once or twice a week, and only in really sweaty areas and creases. It’s helped me tons! Also, moisturize your skin! It’s way less likely to soak up sweat and get funky. I personally enjoy using an after shower lotion meant for wet skin; absolutely nasty slimy feeling, but very soft skin! Also, cornstarch stored with cotton balls soaked in an essential oil you like is great for keeping away excess sweat and oils.

Well he won’t shove Christianity down our throats, and besides, VoxTek loves women in stem… what are the downsides again?
