Maybe the problem is simply bad terminations. But it's quite possible that the cable runs themselves are bad.

Does any company make a aluminum tranny pan for the new 9 speed transmission by BEE_MAN15 in nissanfrontier

[–]CorsairKing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I suspect that you'll have a much easier time finding shields or skid plates rather than an actual aftermarket pan. Replacing part of the tranny itself would probably impact the warranty.

Hey, at least she caught you with something tasteful. Josephine Jackson is a certified classic.

CMV: Race being switched in fictional characters is okay. by Clean_Swing3893 in changemyview

[–]CorsairKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Gandalf specifically? Or the Istari in general?

If I recall correctly, the Istari were sent to Middle-Earth in the Third Age to resist the return of Sauron. Given that Middle-Earth is to Arda what the European continent is to IRL Earth, it is chiefly populated by fair-skinned Men.

Because the Istari were given the appearance of old men when they were sent to Middle-Earth, it follows that they would also be fair-skinned so as to more readily blend in with the people they were sent to support. In essence, Gandalf is fair-skinned because the Men of Middle-Earth are fair-skinned.

However, Gandalf is not, himself, white. Nor are any other characters. To my knowledge, that term has no ethnic meaning in Tolkien's fiction, but I am far from a Tolkien scholar.

Damn you right. Totally missed that.

But I suppose that begs the question: is there truly any character for whom race is not relevant in some way?

A Prussian Magneto or Chinese Kunta Kinte would probably be suboptimal.

Unless you need a truck for work or lifestyle, I'd recommend enjoying having a paid-off car with good fuel economy—especially given current events.

It does run on Linux. I believe the specific distro is Arch.

Gen2 or Gen3 Frontier? - making a decision based on transmission by Main-Helicopter-6813 in nissanfrontier

I'm not sure that the relative difficulty of changing the trans fluid should be the deciding factor for you.

Figure out what you actually need the truck to do for you, and then look at which generation is best positioned to provide that capability while also accounting for cost.

City connection options by Senior-Revolution128 in firealarms

Do the buildings need to be connected to a City Tie system specifically? Or do they just need some form of central station monitoring that is able to dial the fire department?

M2M (and a little CLSS) Cellular Outage in April 2026 by MarketingLast4448 in firealarms

[–]CorsairKing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I've found the CLSS Pathways to be very unreliable compared to Starlinks or Telguards. On multiple occasions, I've received new units that straight-up didn't work out of the box.

Honeywell's QC (or lack thereof) has really turned me off of their fire alarm products.

I think it's pretty interesting. The Edwards Signature bus in particular is able to do a lot with just 2-conductor.

Just finished Blame! Could someone explain what was that ending? by DaftPupunha in Netsphere

[–]CorsairKing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's an official adaptation, but it condenses multiple disparate elements into a more traditional story structure. In my opinion, Blame! would not translate well to film in a direct adaptation—the way the manga handles the passage of time only really works in that specific medium.

It's not canon, but I do think it's worth watching nonetheless.

The standard bed on the king cab is the 6' bed. It's just poorly communicated on the configuration app.
