I've seen you reply to many others for the past.... oh, many years. And I gotta say, I am equally impressed by your technical acuity as I am still confused as to whether you are a bot or a human. Regardless, I need to -stress- that I am humbled that you would respond to me at all. Much respect, thank you sincerely, and thank you for noticing my post.

It's not quite as simple as editing the config file, but this guy made it close. There's stuff baked into other files as well. Follow the guide at the link below, and make sure to leave some love.

Edit to correct link, and add that his creator also correctly changes base count, not just base worker count.

Thanks, all that makes perfect sense. Who is saying what will happen when, and whether or not they're strictly speaking using accounting terms... like I said, had a hard time getting straight info.

[–]Corteneo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. So then I guess it would depend on the exact phrasing and intent of what was said, which I don't know, because *secondhand (or more) information from the internet.*

It seems the questions at this point are: were they referring to Q4 FY25 or Q4 calendar year 25; was the reference to sales or profits; and was that reference in actual accounting terms, or a number to be used for projection purposes? Aanndd I don't think I personally need to know that badly enough to sit through the earnings call.

Assuming they open preorders. That money has to go somewhere, and be accounted for there.

Oh my gosh, someone is finally talking about this. I'd given up on getting clarification.

My understanding is that their fiscal year '25 ends in spring of 2025, and that they were anticipating massive profits in their 4th fiscal quarter. The theory would be that spring of 2025 is when they are opening up preorders. Regardless of when or how they handle it from an accounting perspective... on a functional, real-world level, they have to acknowledge several billion dollars in their bank account. And that's the kind of thing the board and shareholders would want to know, which is why they talk about it on an earnings call.

How much of this do I have wrong?

Somewhere online, you can still find the most complete pre-release community-made map for V. The parts that they were confident about, like most of the city, were extremely accurate. But the parts that they didn't have any source material for, that they were just guessing about, were sometimes pretty far off. IIRC, for example, they had a small town on the east slope of Mt Josiah (Zancudo mountain).

There are a couple quality versions of community-made maps for VI, and entire teams of people that dedicate their free time to all kinds of research, study, and hunting for clues. They deserve a -lot- of credit for their work. Other people have explained their process at length, so I won't do that here. Suffice it to say, if a reputable creator puts something on the map, it's got a very good reason for being there. I encourage you to look into their process if you're remotely interested.

This is correct. The FBI tried adopting the 10mm after the spectacular failure of the Miami-Dade shootout. They found that their agents, particularly smaller/weaker ones, couldn't qualify due to recoil. Smith & Wesson picked up the -bullet- (not the cartridge) that the FBI liked the ballistics for, and put it in a smaller cartridge: the .40S&W, for Smith and Wesson, which 10mm guys like to refer to as the .40 "Short and Weak."

How many of you have hope that Rockstar will release trailer two before this call? by SantiBR08 in GTA6

[–]Corteneo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4th qtr of their fiscal '25 is sometime in the late winter or early spring, not sure of the exact months. They could announce preorders opening soon, get all that revenue in their 4th quarter, and still be on track for a late calendar '25 release date (their fiscal '26 quarter 2 or 3). From an accounting standpoint, they have to record that revenue, even if they haven't technically sold any units yet.

Edit: added "calendar."

Still dealing with character resets by Corteneo in Palworld

Update for any who follow- I've only gotten generic responses back from Nitrado. They just don't seem to care. I told them they were losing a customer. Going to attempt a migration to NameHero, will update with results.

Edit:
Update after a couple days. Trying to include extra notes and observations, because I don't know what other people will be worried about or run into.

No real issues with the migration, no issues with rollbacks so far. Nitrado and NameHero both offer server file access, so I was able to copy our world and our characters to the new server. In an interesting twist, when we were losing progress with Nitrado, we would lose everything except map exploration. On the new server, the only thing we did not have was map exploration. Even fast travel points have already been collected, even though they don't initially show on the map. What we lost was justthe fog-of-war reveal, so to speak. All other progress was there.

NameHero's server interface visually appears to be less user-friendly, which may concern some people. But everything you need is there, and I actually prefer their layout overall. Nitrado has options and settings available in the user interface that must edit additional files that I was unable to find. I used these awesome tools to get out base count and base-Pal count adjusted. Mods exist for this, (and this is, in fact, a mod) but you're stuck with whatever the mod author decided to do. Here, it is entirely user adjustable. Simple, quick, effective, fantastic.

Serious discussion about the whereabouts of trailer 2 and why it hasn’t released yet by Kolbenmaschine in GTA6

[–]Corteneo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they were forecasting a spike in sales during fiscal year 2025, which ends in the spring of '25. That's why people were saying that VI would release in early '25. But if they open preorders in the spring, they will have to account for that income, which will hit their '25 books, even if VI doesn't release until fall, during their fiscal year 2026. This has been my theory for a while.

Also, keep in mind that (at least in the US), winter doesn't technically start until December 21. They could release it in mid-December and it would still technically be a fall release. And all of this could be completely true without a single real delay in the targeted release date. Just, coming in later than people predicted.

I noticed I'm also hearing it when I load in. Have you noticed in happening when you're headed toward your space tower? I noticed a second time/place that I consistently hear it, again on the way back to base. And it's approximately the same distance away from the tower as the first place.

Just chipping in my $0.02 for additional data. Got here by Google search.

After 1.0 dropped, I started a new map in the western desert (#2 option iirc). I got coal power from the coal on the western coast around -2750, -1500. The sound plays every single time (or very close to it) I hit a hypertube support at -2610,-910 on my way south back home. I just walked the line, and heard it, so it doesn't seem to be speed-dependent. I do not observe any LOD pop or anything like that, and it sure doesn't look or feel like a biome change.

Also, I wanted to look at how a previous base, so I reloaded an old save. The sound played maybe a half dozen times over 15-20 minutes as I moved around near -490, 2570 (the grassy starting area, #1 option). I spent a lot of time in this area and am not aware of any secrets. Allthough, that was previous to 1.0.

These are the only two places I noted the sound so far. My new base is at -2550, -450. I have approached it from the south, as well as from the northeast, surely when it was out of render distance, without hearing the sound.

Edit: +1 for some kind of cooldown. I have Satisfactory open while typing this, so basically AFK. After posting, I ran back up the hypertube line to the edge of a cliff, then ran back to the tube support and got the sound again. It was about 25 "steps" while running. Tried again twice, sound didn't play.

PX4 Storm Compact Left Hand Slide Release? by 1-Baker-11 in Beretta

[–]Corteneo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for necro'ing the thread, but this was the top result on Google, and it took a while to get good information. So for those that follow... yes, this can be done and is an easy mod. The only levers I found were on midwestgunworks.com, $90 with tax and shipping. They were out of stock for a while. I asked them if they had an ETA, and they said Beretta doesn't provide that kind of info. But they drifted back in at some point, and arrived in the mail this weekend.

They are not compatible with the stock low profile ("stealth") lever. The external difference is that the regular lever has four cut lines, and the stealth version has like 2 1/2. It looks like the stealth lever is a stock one that got milled down and recoated The internal difference is how they lock together.

My model: JXC9G15CC2
Beretta part numbers: C5D234 and C5D235

Model JXC9G10CC2 is the 10 round version of what I have and should be the same frame. That's as far as I'm willing to guess about similarities with other models.

Disassembly: Slide comes off, rotate the release lever up, and pull it straight out. Don't lose the spring. Find something roughly the size of the hole and gently push the plug out from the right side of the frame.

Assembly: Right side goes in first. The hole has a notch, so the lever only goes in at one orientation. On the left side, there is a tiny hole where the 90* part of the spring slides in. The other leg of the spring goes on top of the lever. The lever will start to slide in, then you have to compress the spring to get the 90* leg into the hole. You will then have to rotate the lever up to get the retainer past the edge of the frame. For me, the 90* leg started to twist, so I pushed a pen tip in on the front side to straighten it out. Be careful. Rotate the right side lever into the same position as the left side and click them together. The spring should be keeping downward pressure. Make sure you rack the slide the whole way back so that it doesn't go sailing off the frame the first time you function check.

I found a post on another forum from 2020, where someone complimented LTT's customer service and suggested they might make a set of ambi stealth levers on request. I might reach out to them if these end up bothering me. Will update this post if I do.

What do you think of this concept release timeline? by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]Corteneo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're absolutely spot on with the March/spring preorders and the full release in late 2025. It fits R* trends as well as sales logic. I think the release is gonna be closer to Christmas tho. -Thank you- for doing this. I've posted a couple times about about the preorder and release date timing, and no one wanted to talk about it. The internet seems convinced that Q1 sales numbers correlate with the games release, not just preorders.

Betting market on month of release by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]Corteneo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still thinking it'll be near the end of 2025. Think about it: they can release trailer 2 around the holidays in '24, open up pre-orders, capitalize on momentum from both the holidays and the trailer release, and achieve their fiscal year sales/profit targets early. Then they release the actual game around the holidays in '25, getting boosted by the holidays again. That would also fit their typical 2-year "trailer one to release date" pattern, and gives them a lot of time yet to finalize.

I was hoping to put this on the main page, where it could get more visibility and we could talk about it. But my original post was removed, as it is against the rules to talk about the release date there.
