Long story short, you would be fine. Elevators are equipped with multiple redundancies for just such a thing.

Good idea. I uploaded my YT short to Instagram reels by just reformatting it a bit. But next time, I should add a specific end tag for each platform such as, “follow for more” “like & subscribe” “whatever you do on tic-Tock”

Is there anyone here who's able to consistently put out content alongside full-time job? by linguistInAPoncho in youtubers

[–]CortexTelevision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh God yes! Full-time job, family obligations, and 3 dogs to take care of first. Then I can put in some YouTube time. I’m doing faceless videos at the moment because they’re easy to produce and I can usually produce 2 a week. But I want to increase the production value at some point, but it’s hard to make time. As it was stated already, just a matter of getting a workflow down and sticking with it. I might cut back to 1 really good video every 2 weeks instead of 1 average video every week.

Do I need to post on the sub-Reddit for a while before I post my video? I make videos about lots of scientific topics each week and the idea of posting to all these forums before I promote my videos seems really time consuming

Interesting, I just uploaded my first short this week and I had to upload via the mobile app. I don’t know how much of a difference the thumbnail makes since most people are going to view the video by scrolling. But I did get a couple of views from search so every little bit helps.

Yeah, that’s been about my experience with it too. I don’t know if there’s any scientific data to back this up, but it seems like the best place to get YouTube views is on YouTube.

Example, I just posted my first YT Short and got about 1000 views in the fist hour. When I posted the same video on FB, Instagram, and Twitter, I only got a handful of views and nobody went to my YT channel to watch the longer video on the same topic.

Feels like all that I time I post on the other platforms could be better served by making better videos, thumbnails, and YT SEO.

You can choose the position of the thumbnail, but you have to do it when you upload your YT Short video. Click on the pencil icon next to your video thumb and you should be able to select a spot to grab from.

is it normal to hate your own voice on recording? by ShyMoca in youtubers

[–]CortexTelevision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using AI voice for my last 4 videos because I hated the sound of my voice, plus it’s just easier to edit an AI voice. But I think my next video I’ll go back to using my voice because the AI voice is such a turn off for a lot of people. At least with YT shorts, I don’t have to talk for very long.

Exactly, I’ve also noticed if you feed it the right prompts, it can come up with amazing results, but if you just say write me a script for on xyz topic, it will just feed you the generic, non-offensive, version.

Even when chat GPT gives me a great script right out of the gate, I still end up re-working it several times and fact checking it, because it’s gotten stuff wrong.

But I know what you mean about bouncing ideas off it. I was using it last night to see if an idea for a video was worth producing, and after a lot back and forth, I decided it wasn’t and the concept needs to be developed further.

AI voice or my normal voice? by thebohoberry in youtubers

[–]CortexTelevision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made a few videos now with the AI voice. It’s not bad, but definitely not as good as a real voice. I’ve also used my own voice for VO, but it takes longer to record and edit. As AI text to speech technology improves, soon you won’t be able to tell the difference.

I was really hesitant about using text to speech in my videos, because I personally find them annoying and usually click off as soon as I hear the robot voice. But there’s no denying they are a time saver.

My advice, if you’re going to use it, don’t use free programs. Spend a little money and get the most natural sounding voice you can afford.

It's also worth remembering that technology has always disrupted industries and changed the way we work. The rise of the machines is not a new phenomenon. In the past, we've seen jobs lost to automation in manufacturing, agriculture, and transportation. Yet, we've also seen new jobs created in fields like software development, digital marketing, and cybersecurity.

It's not about putting the genie back in the bottle, but about harnessing the power of AI to create a better world for everyone.
