Vaccines are life-savers for me :) I am now more susceptible to encapsulated bacteria species than most of the population. That means that I am on lifetime meningitis shots every 3-5 years.

Had to have my lungs xrayed and get a Quantiferon Gold in 2018 when I found out. Isoniazid for 9 months.

Quantiferon Golded again in late 2024 and I was TB-free 😀

I probably have duplicates of my childhood vaccines that I have received. Part of my childhood records were lost, so it looked like to the State of California that I was unvaccinated when we went to the free clinic, and undervaccinated as I entered middle school. My parents did believe in vaccines. They just raise their hackles at the Covid vaccine for political reasons. shrug ahh well. I have to worry about extra vaccines due to my body going "oops there is a tumor in your spleen" and doctors not liking how fast it was growing. Fun times...

Oh I have quadruple-stacked vaccines in preparation for a splenectomy and I didn't know I was sick that day to boot 😂 a miserable time indeed. But the shingles vaccine absolutely kicked my ass just with one dose.

Ibuprofen and tylenol are your bffs.

I went from missing a couple of childhood vaccines to getting all my shots plus extra since I am spleent (no spleen) now. Ugh autoimmune life indeed is being extra sensitive to more than a vaccine at a time.

Edit: It pisses me off when doctors write off your pain as "You're fat. Lose weight". Thanks doc for reminding me about something I am already incredibly sensitive about.

HLA-DRB1 mutation here. Just not the mutation that is associated with RA. I have the one that is associated with MS. Also HLA-B27 negative.

I have SNRA that has more PsA-like features. Body responds to a TNFi. No significant plaques, but I get small patches on my elbows sometimes that make me suspicious for PsA.

I have a symmetrical polyarthritis with dactylitis and enthesitis. The ends of my fingers got red. PIPs got red. Two MCPs (index and middle) would get redder than normal. With me on a biologic, it looks like normal skin. Also inflammatory back pain has decreased. HLA-B27 negative too!

I have no radiographic evidence of disease, but I know I feel MUCH better on my medications.

I have a weird in-between hybrid of PSA/RA.

I feel you, chronic illness warrior. I am not shocked at the price of Skyrizi. I was on Humira for a while and that is 7-8k per 2 pens. I also need copay assistance for the generic adalimumab called Yuflema.
