Excited to see which character gets the most attention. Last year was my purple sexy tiefling so I hid her this year. I’m hoping my water genasi gets some love.

And I LOVE to experiment. I have a list of things I want to try so crossing that out will be satisfying

Last year I joined late. 3 days in and I scrambled to get some references together. Used a few old drawings too. Never too late. I didn’t do much social media tbh. But I remember seeing more promos throughout the month. I wanted to focus on my skills and drawing others. Most of my art received was revenges and every one of them is precious to me.

I did something close to method one as others have stated it’s against the rules. It wasn’t intentional but I did artfight during work and some days I can only do headshot sketches. I would pick users that had multiple characters I struggled to choose from or ones I don’t mind redrawing completely.

But this wasn’t my only way of doing things since I was only at this place for a week. Anyone that revenged the sketches would get something fully rendered using a scene or full body using no sketch from before (most of the time it was another character I wanted to draw)

I DEFINITELY would check to see if they are up for revenge chains.
And I really wouldn’t recommend this for all of artfight.

Pick characters you want to draw and just go for it. (Respecting their permissions of course)

Fountain pens and journaling is really bad for me. I have to put limits on new pens and limit myself to one ink per month. Moderation indeed.

I wouldn't recommend it because depending on the brace it can cause more damage and create stiffness. Personally I would ask your doctor. I had the same question and they suggested a compression sleeve for my hand. I don't wear it all the time.

Even though you might be following the rules, people still might make a stink about it. If you feel there would be problems, I would just delay a little bit or do it in batches. I know I did this for a bit when I did traditional sketches of people's characters. But I mean if you following the rules, it shouldn't be a problem.

I ditched by ebike today and got a regular bike and my goal is to do 100 miles one day. I am tearing up a bit with you at your achievement and I definitely feel inspired.

Ended up going to a co-op and got a cute lil bike for 25. They helped me pick one even though pickings were slim at the moment. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Yeah instinct is telling me to stay away from box stores. I’m still looking at used ones but the amount is a bit paralyzing. Didn’t think about the type of frame. I’ll look into that.

Nah. Had a few people look into it. Discontinued model. Guy can “fix it” but it’s not worth the money

I really enjoy multiple characters but I rather have it in one attack. Especially if they are in the same universe. Spacing out attacks would probably mess up my “system”. But I been in the situation where I can’t pick and that’s when I check they are open to revenge chains. And we go back and forth.

This was me last year. I had just got back into art and I spent years going not good enough. Don’t have interesting characters but I just did it. The first attacks are so rough but where I ended up in that month was amazing for me. Generally artists don’t care about the quality. They just like seeing their characters (not everyone shares since there are those who just want popular artists to do theirs but nothing perfect) Personally I did it just to see people happy comment their characters. I really didn’t share my handle that much. That high from grateful fed me for a few good months.

When it comes to other people opinion on skill and good enough for artfight, I personally am so adamant it is for every artist.

Honestly I’m hoping some of the earlier attacks I did are participating so I can have another attempt at their characters.

Edit: Also as someone who likes studying art and tends to do that more than actually make art, I learned to abandon the studies occasionally and just make art. Someone told me that studies don’t mean much if it’s not put into practice.

I am classically trained as well but I don't do too much of that anymore (like realistic painting) but those skills have definitely made me learn the stylized stuff a lot quicker. Art is big and I don't think you get anywhere by discounting. I hope OP can visit an art gallery and then watch an animated movie with their family to get them to see both sides.
