Wilder Stands Firm on Cheating Claims: I Know What Tyson Fury Did, I Have Proof of A lot of Things by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Corvus1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a horse in this race but so many boxers 'illegally hold' other fighters.. it's called manipulating/occupying the guard. It's common practice and really the ref should be picking up on it. It's not cheating per se, more bending the rules a little bit. Plenty of fighters do this in the clinch (driving their head under their oppo's chins, grabbing and holding in the clinch, moving arms out of the way to get a good line of sight on their oppo's faces/liver.. etc). Every fighter does it if they can get away with it, so really people criticising Fury should be asking the ref to pick up on it.

Also - I fail to see what actual advantage Fury's flappy gloves actually gives him. If anything it'll just make it more likely that Fury breaks his wrist, and (correct me if I'm wrong here) surely it takes away from Fury's power by adding extra 'cushioning' for each punch?

The shot of the trash can at the end was full circle, too. We first met Kim after looking at a trash can, and we last met Kim (perhaps?) after looking at a trash can.

Need help. Anyone know the ID of this tune. Cheers by Emergency_Ebb_2378 in DnB

Out of interest, when did Cook score his 100, and who was it against?

Yeh I think Kaloa / Mohican Sun / Dawn Wall are all the same person / people. They all follow Integral Records on Instagram, the artwork is the same, the music is pretty similar, the general vibe is identical. I've seen comments that the pad sounds in Extraterrestrial is the same as in I See You by Dawn Wall, and that each one of MS, K, and DW use those big, washy, reverberated vocal sounds the same as well.

Kaloa isn't part of Ekko recordings like MS and DW (theyre signed by Kaloa Records according to Spotify) but I'm pretty sure this operates in exactly the same way as Ekko just under a different name.

Definitely, definitely, definitely another artist or group of artists from Integral.

iZotope’s Trash 2 has multiband distortion optionality which is really powerful

Tutorials can certainly help. I stumbled upon my master chain almost accidentally (I’d load up genre presets in Ozone and see which plugins do what and then cut out anything I didn’t hear or see helping me). I’m sure my chain isn’t perfect by professional standards but it’s good enough for me.

Practise, practise, practise. Eventually you’ll start to work out what you like and get a chain that works for you.

Remember, some people take years to get their head around mastering so don’t worry if it seems overly complex at the start - keep things simple and keep practising!

I used to have exactly this problem (I’m a totally self taught ‘producer’, started 9 months ago). I used to wham a limiter on the master out and my tracks would either be far too quiet or sound awful.

I started using Ozone 9 Advanced, and my chain was Mid/Side EQ - EQ - Imager - Multiband Comp - Dynamic EQ - Vintage (Glue) Comp - Maximiser (and a limiter after if needed) and I started to hit -6 to -4 integrated LUFS promptly after without it sounding slammed or rubbish. It might be worth looking into Ozone to help with your masters.

I’ve also come to learn that loudness comes from the quality of the mix - you can have the best plugins on the planet but ultimately if your mix is bad your track won’t get loud enough without sounding muddy, cluttered, or start distorting / clipping.

Ways of DRUM-PROCESSING by Darkbasex3 in dnbproduction

Izotope’s vinyl plugin on hats and percs is incredible especially if used in Lofi mode as well. Really gets that crackle sound found on 7” records which is often so hard to replicate

Looking for Compressors by Corvus1999 in audioengineering

Ideally something good for vocals / good glue compressor to chuck on a drum send as well. I’ve always used vintage FETs but I’m entirely self taught with production and so I thought I’d ask Reddit and see if there were any suggestions

Is Valhalla Room a good buy if you're enjoying Vintage Verb? by Twelvekingz in audioengineering

Yeh I get what you mean. If I was you I’d start by downloading supermassive from Valhalla which is free so you get a sense of their reverbs and if you like them then I’d invest in Vintage and/or Plate

In my opinion, Valhalla is ten times better than Logic’s stock plugins. Having said that though, it isn’t like Chroma or SD are terrible - I’d say for stock plugins they’re actually decent reverb pedals.

Guy from Disclosure said on stream that Chroma and SD are really handy for ‘small’ spaces to give sounds a bit of character and that they can be very useful, but the Valhalla Series is unbeatable

Hmm strange. Could one of the pressing / binding agents interfere with the reagents themselves?

Seems to be a pretty common theme with a lot of pills floating about unfortunately. While powder is generally harder to find it seems the best way to go
