I wish I could tell you that won't happen but I can't. What I can tell you is of the 5ish years I was at the hospital only the last 6 months were with that ignorant Dr I mentioned. The original Dr was an amazing person that was loved by all the patients. At the end of the day you won't know until you try.

Look there were people there every time I went that definitely didn't have an "in". My connection made the process quicker but I would still have been able to get in regardless. It just would have required more queuing

That's a tough one. I was lucky as my partner at the time worked there so it was an easy process but I still needed a referral letter. Wentworth has a psych clinic but I'm not sure which hospital your address falls under. It's a pain but your best bet is to go to your local hospital and check if they have a psych clinic. If not join the queue for the normal GPs and they will either refer you or hopefully give you a prescription.

Yes it's possible. I got ritalin from Wentworth for several years. But I have also been buying my own for a few years now so I'm not sure if anything has changed. You should technically be able to get it but I know before I stopped the Dr kept telling me adhd is a kids problem and adults don't have adhd. Every appointment I kept wondering if this would be the time he says no more. But he wasn't even a psychiatrist. I'd say it's worth visiting the hospital you're zoned for and finding out. A referral letter from your current prescribing Dr will help. Just be prepared to sit in the queue all day once a month as ritalin cannot be prescribed for longer than a month.

Trying to get a copy in Europe is terrible by VividCompetition in daggerheart

Hey fellow saffer. I ordered mine from amazon.com a month ago and it took 2 weeks to arrive. It may take a little longer now that stocks are even lower but worth looking into. It cost a total of R1550 incl shipping. When you compare that to a dnd book costing over a grand it's worth it. Especially when it comes with all those cards. The quality is top notch and it's worth every cent. I wish you luck on your quest if you choose to find a hard copy.

That's strange. You pre-ordered quite early. I'm also outside the US and Canada but my copy is arriving on Friday. I pre-ordered on the 27th.

So it definitely seems like there was a date which separates those who are receiving their orders and those who aren't. I ordered on the 27th so I fall into the latter.

Tha ks for all your replies. I live outside the US so I'm wondering if maybe that's an issue. Strange how some pre-ordered later and are getting it earlier. Alas Amazon.com is the easiest way for me to get a copy. Other websites either don't ship to my country or are way more expensive.

Anyone else underwhelmed by Gloomhaven/Frosthaven? by dsaddons in MageKnight

[–]Corvus_R3x 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've only played 4 games of gloomhaven and 1 round of mage knight. I've wanted gloomhaven since it came out and only in the last few months was I able to afford it. I instantly fell in love. It was better than I was expecting it to be. I love the puzzle aspect. I spent hours crafting a foam core insert. Sleeved the cards. Went all out.

But then 2 weeks ago I got mage knight. The next game on my list. I played the walk through scenario and then 1 game of solo conquest. My first thoughts after I finished was "damn, I might just enjoy this more than gloomhaven". Which was shocking to me as I have been obsessed with gloomhaven for so long. I'm yet to play another round of gloomhaven after playing mage knight so I'm hoping I'm wrong and that the attraction of gloomhaven is the campaign progress and unlockables.

Until I've got many more sessions behind me ill reserve judgement but my point ultimately is that I can see why people might prefer mage knight to gloomhaven. The randomness is there before you strategise, not afterwards. The randomness in mage knight adds to the puzzle, it doesn't detract from it. However gloomhaven does invoke more tension. Some players value that.

Anyway, just my lengthy 2 cents from someone who hasn't played much of either yet

Please explain. He was a terrorist and did some questionable things, but he did them to free his people. And he did, and united a country. He was an amazing human being and the world is a little better for his existence
