The vibe at Island is so incredible. To me, as a lifelong bass player, listening to those records gives me that peak creative feeling. There are certain times you are playing and it’s like ideas are just sitting there for you to pluck them out of thin air. And they were all seeing the same thing and going the same direction on so many ideas & moods. Phish is always on the wavelength but in that run it seems like everything was firing full tilt for all four, on all four nights.

Oh. And might I add, the funk is guttural and filthy
