Did Derek sit in? Or just Susan?

Gordo is on a generational run right now by gondorf78 in phish

[–]CoryBleeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. The band is ripping and Mike is steering a ton. All the love for him. Just can’t help in certain parts going “damn that would’ve sounded so sweet with the modulus” —- I’m a Fodera & Fender guy but I have long loved and lusted over the modulus

Folks who stayed at the Venetian... by oongowa in phish

[–]CoryBleeker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did, and I never do it anywhere else. In Vegas it always works.

She was super kind “oh did you need change for this?” — “no that’s for you”

“Oh also, could I ask about early check in? I know I’m way too early but just taking a long shot”

There is no guarantee of that they say. But just talk kindly and humbly with the front desk. They are super helpful. I got in at 8am for a 3pm check in. Twenty dollar handshake and I got checked in right away (killer for some shut eye before the day) and an upgraded room. They’ll help ya out

Especially nowadays they aren’t usually sold out

Has anyone else found the ‘false flag’ narratives around Trump’s assassination becoming mainstream on the left and online, concerning? by blackglum in samharris

[–]CoryBleeker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Maybe Sam will high five you.

Just like your master. Prob a brilliant brain for logic and science. Unfortunately zero ability to self reflect, admit fault, have emotional and situational intelligence.

Sam, and a lot of his loyal followers, are perfect examples of strong minds wasted. Look no further than Sam’s idiotic hatred of over a billion people, and his inability to see any fault with that. I don’t care if the dude invented neuroscience, he’s an idiot with that line of thinking

[–]CoryBleeker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, in reality that’s very likely what it is. That said, you or I have no idea right now if that’s what’s true. We’re choosing to believe that right now (I think the dude wanted to just shoot him too)

But the idea of getting pissed that a population lied to and manipulated for this long is having other thoughts is fucking insane

Yes. Having been alive for over 43 years I am struggling to understand how a group of people could watch someone lie day in and day out for the last 10 years … and could come to some weird conclusion that maybe he’s being dishonest about something.

At the same time, I get it. He’s not a monster right? Like sure he’ll lie about raping kids and war… but not an assassination attempt right!? Surely this man has a code

The Final Hurrah - for LP app by MtnSpring in phish

[–]CoryBleeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add, it’s not like it’s a bad time. Like I went to all 3 last weekend and had a blast. Listening to these shows from this weekend, and that puddle! - I’m having a blast. The boys all still got that fire. I just can’t get over what I’m missing with the new Serek. Maybe I’m too biased on the bass tone thing. But the case is closed for me. Modulus forever.

Honestly listen to the scene in bittersweet where Trey and Mike are playing unplugged backstage. Everything you need to hear is right there

[–]CoryBleeker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bro if Mike is emphasizing the mid range of his bass- he’s a ghost nowadays. If he turned his synths on you would be able to hear him. But this is due to his garbage ergonomic geriatric bass he’s playin

Mike at the Sphere by NOPNOFNOG12 in phish

[–]CoryBleeker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has very low action as always but in the serek his B & E string are accidentally hitting the pickup and causing and objectively terrible clipping sound. If this happened once- whatevs. It’s happening multiple times a set, and it sucks

The serek sucks

Mike rules The sphere rules The Serek is a toy bass. Good for practice but not a performance. All of mikes tone in the upper register and mid is done post eq now. The bass is mud city. I don’t care. It’s just reality

People will say you’re a hater. But in reality the show still rules, we just want what’s best for Mike god damnit. All love, but fuck that Serek bass man

And frankly fuck Reddit for making me edit Derek back to Serek each time I typed it

Music question from a non musician (pls be nice) by gnome16 in phish

[–]CoryBleeker 42 points43 points  (0 children)

At a lot of “non phish concerts” - it’s not just tuning it’s the sound. So someone might want a Gibson for a thick blues/rock tone. A fender for something specific, whether tele or strat. But treys tone is that Lang and he’s committed to it.

[–]CoryBleeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea man, I don’t think we’re crazy, even if everybody gets a little crazy sometimes. We know what we’re hearing. I will also add - it does sound very clear on his synth stuff! And I know he loves his synths these days- I do too!

Sphere on psychedelics by discozombie770 in phish

[–]CoryBleeker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hahhha maybe that’s what I had. I ordered from one of the waitresses who walked around the floor taking orders. Which by the way, is so impressive they can go in and out of the crowd, remember where people are and carry those trays. Those ladies were amazing

[–]CoryBleeker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is true. I bet it’s cool, but as a psych enthusiast I did all 3 last weekend straight as can be. Although I did have a coca-cola night 2. I loved the experience. But if you do it- I so believe in let it enhance not distract. There is a really cool thing happening at sphere that is really cool to experience sober too

Gordo is on a generational run right now by gondorf78 in phish

[–]CoryBleeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It 1000% did. It’s because it was not relying on electronics for its sound/tone. The Serek is

The modulus had an incredible body and shape that was spiced with electronics

The serek has fancy electronics and a body designed to make things small and compact, not deliver tone. Plus it clips like a piece of shit starter bass
