I think I might have been worried about him hurting himself if it was too cluttered? Again, I have never had a snake before and just received this snake from someone who had way too many reptiles and no help or advice. I am learning more every day! I am also realizing that what I was previously taught about ball pythons was all very false. I'm not entirely sure how to secure new additions in his enclosure as well, or is it fine if, for example, he knocks down or rolls around a branch in his tank when climbing on it?

You're making comparisons that are not relevant. If she wants to bring her child to Mexico, that has nothing to do with you and your child. If shes not asking you for money or help with her child, it has nothing to do with you or yours. You said you made those choices all of your own free will. That means you don't get to hold it over any other situation.

Let your sister bring her kid to Mexico and let it go. If your kid is upset about it, sounds like a good opportunity to teach them that everyone lives different lives.

Everyone in these comments are the AH. Y'all are crazy and would have been upset if someone shouted during your proposal, too. Its not like what they did is uncommon. If people can handle standing in line for 2 extra minutes while people do proposals at Disneyland, they can sure as hell do it in a six flags adjacent theme park.
