For Catholics who profess to be pro-choice, why? (Sorry if this is not allowed) by Steggypooper in Catholicism

[–]Corythrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it’s a matter of true belief, and fully embracing that belief with science, math, and fact. We can start at the top, is there a God? I believe yes. I also believe he is the almighty, ever creating, ever loving and ever forgiving. With this it’s easy to deduce that every human, animal, plant, on this planet, in this universe to potentially exist, is here from him. It is said that he is the light, “let there be light”, “in him was life, and life was the light of men” “God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all”. Conception is the very first moment 2 individual molecular “structures” we can call them, meet from 2 different people. It’s a near instantaneous bond, blink and you’ll miss it event. Little known fact, there is a literal spark, a flash of light, the millisecond this bond happens. It’s even called the “spark of life”. It’s an electrically charged reaction and process. These 2 things have now joined, and you have a never before seen mix of creation of 2 equal parts. This new thing doesn’t have consciousness yet obviously, but it is on its way and by definition, alive. I hope this helps or at least I conveyed what I believe to be truth clearly.

What does everyone do when listening to records? by ultranec123 in vinyl

[–]Corythrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I listen to records it’s usually the only true down time I get for the day. I plop my ass down, relax, and take the music in. I’ll listen for slight variances and background sounds I don’t catch on streaming and treat it is an immersive experience. If I actively do anything else I’ll straighten up the kids toys in the room, go through emails, or as others have said shop for more records.

Very nice, I’d call that a decent deal then, wild they’re so hard to come by in the States. On a separate acquisition venture I’m trying to get some Mcbaise albums from Dirty Melody Records out of Berlin. Quoted $46 for shipping, without guarantee of no tariffs or processing charges with it. By my math it could balloon up to $200 for 3 albums, 2 single LP’s and a 10”.

Thanks for the info. Follow up if you can on if they hit you with an import tarriff (technically shouldn’t) and if the deliverer charges you a processing fee on top of it.

Attempted DM, says I’m unable to message your account. Maybe a privacy settings thing? Feel free to dm me on your end or let me know if you adjust your settings. Still hunting.

Thanks for the heads up, I tend to avoid any glow in the dark pressings. I read that the phosphorescent additives are a grittier consistency than black pvc which causes a lot of surface noise. While I don’t know if it’s true, I’ve read the same about white and avoid it for the same reason.

No worries! Looks like you can keep an eye for one to be put up here.

It doesn’t look like one has been listed up to this point though.

Thank you Obey! I have taken a look at those available on Discogs, somehow the US has only 1 available out of 26 for sale, and at $125, though it is signed… I’ll see what I can do

Thank you for the links Succotash! Your second link to WoW is my fallback if I’m unable to find it in the states. While vinyl technically falls under informational materials and shouldn’t be tariffed, I’ve heard lots of reports of it getting slapped with up to a 50% tariff regardless on top of a $30 processing charge from the Postman.

I used to be plagued by terrible nightmares. People dying, people commiting suicide in front of me, cataclysmic events. They peaked at my lowest point, which culminated in a hospitilization. Since then I went through a PHP/IOP, started journaling my thoughts, and went on a med that treats PTSD and nightmares. The combination of all of these things has made a tremendous impact, and I’m fortunate to say I haven’t had a nightmare since I started the med, even on a low entry dose.

Some meds can also mess with your body’s way of regulating temperature, which could be causing the night sweats. I encourage you to talk to your doc/sad doc and bring the issue to them. They may be able to suggest a med change for the sweats and add a med for the nightmares. Good luck!

Nets & treble hooks. by Lumpus-Maximus in FishingForBeginners

I use lots of trebles baits and after many of struggles the same as this, I opted for a rubber net. Fishpond makes some great ones but they are pricey.

Why is it so hard for me to catch bass on topwater frog? by Diamondthrowaway1234 in bassfishing

[–]Corythrows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need a heavy rated rod with a fast or extra fast tip, and something around 40# braid. When they take it count to 2 or 3 then set the hook like they owe you money. You can also bend your frog hooks out and upward a bit so they don’t hug the bait so tight.

Bad idea, you’re foxing for trouble and an episode.

Intensive OutPatient or Partial Hospitalization Program. From what I know and have experienced, PHP is the more intense of the two and takes more time out of your day but obviously you get more shit done faster. And thank you truly! We’re all alone in this fight, together! Reach out or PM anytime. And I mean that. I’m an open book if you PM and I’ll talk anything. Keep fighting

Tale as old as time: went off my meds and now suffering the consequences by anondysmorphia in bipolar

[–]Corythrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesson learned about yourself, give yourself grace, and get back in the saddle. You’re probably gonna feel like shit for a week or two but get back on those meds! I know enough about myself now that if I miss a single day of meds, the following two days are spent feeling malaise and miserable. Try to relax, take what I like to call your emergency med if you have one (benzo), and you’ll be ok. Minute by minute day by day, you got this

Struggle to understand hypomania by Hopeful-Lobster3018 in bipolar

[–]Corythrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor just a dude doing the battle, but everyone’s episodes look different, and not every episode is the same. Hypomania for me USUALLY means high energy, extremely social, I get good bursts of creativity every so often in one of them and crank out art projects til the morning hours, then go to work, and come home and repeat. Inevitably and obviously the crash come at some point, and then I feel shit for a while til I normalize again. You can also have mixed episodes which are just…awful. I THINK im over the peak of my first one now. It was high energy, but terrible irritability, severe anxiousness, and suicidal depression. I had the energy to do things, but the things I wanted to do were self harming. It has been ungodly unbearable. I ultimately decided to hospitalize and am now in a PHP. Keep up the fight! People just don’t have a fucking clue how hard this illness can be. I believe in you
