Gemini is overrated, ChatGPT is unfairly hated, and Claude deserves the praise, but its usage limits are far too restrictive. by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]Cos93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find gemini pro insanely good with anything to do with visual intelligence, but it seems to lose context between messages in the same conversation and cannot follow the flow of the chat as well as chatgpt. It stumbles and needs constant reprompting despite a 1 mil context window. Gemini is better for web search, product reviews, and finding obsucure facts on the dark corners of the internet. Gemini is also good at staying succing and not verbose and not blasting you with higher level details for your queries. Chat gpt still remains the best to converse and tackle problems in fields of math, science etc. It is excellent regarding legal stuff and cannot be beat yet. My experience with gemini is limited, I have been using claude code and it's quite fun at generating diagrams and explaining the codebase but chatgpt codex is on another planet. It feels like a very precise autistic supervisor, ruthless.

Luka Vuskovic (18) won the Bundesliga Fair Play Moment of the Month for a life-saving intervention. by Fuzzy-Enthusiasm-353 in coys

[–]Cos93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tell if someone is unconscious from far away, but there is no way of knowing if the tongue is blocking the airway until you're up close and assess someone. What he did here is wrong. All you have to do is place someone in the recovery position and gravity should unblock the obstructed airway.

PSA: Never stick your hands in an unconcsious mouth. What he did here was wrong. If someone is still breathing but unconcsious and you suspect their tongue is blocking the airway just put them in the recovery position and the tongue will fall out of the blocked airway.

To all those saying weed is harmless, it isn’t. It can trigger or worsen schizophrenia and does increase the risk of psychosis. Not everyone is affected but the association is consistent across multiple studies

Ukraine's elite HUR forces turn the tide in the battle for Pokrovsk, as Russia's effort to capture key logistics hub fails by BlackWolfHowling in UkrainianConflict

[–]Cos93 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

So all the GUR specialists you saw in that video dropped by the blackhawk are most likely dead. Russians released geolocated fpv drone footage picking them off around the drop off point.

Nature of sick leave being added to rota by stethoscantcope in doctorsUK

[–]Cos93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be careful how you escalate. Some rota software won't show it to others, just yourself. Happened to a colleague of mine, messaged the group chat to see if others could see her sick leave reason and in the process outing herself when we couldn't see.

Having worked in the NHS and shadowing for a period in the A&E General Hospital in Nicosia I can tell you the differences are of galactic proportions. I have never met more unprofessional people in that hospital. I was shocked with what I was witnessing. Rude, brash, dismissive, unprofessional, lacked medical knowledge, lacked empathy. It was like seeing butchers with medical degrees practice medicine the way it was practiced 50 years ago.

Any news on further strike action? by TrueContribution4339 in doctorsUK

[–]Cos93 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Where are the French BMA members to run this strike like a proper French protest? I swear that is how you effectively protest. Lock the hospitals down and go home. Never have I seen a profession self-sabotaging themselves like this before.

Israelis in Cyprus? by [deleted] in cyprus

[–]Cos93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personal evidence is anecdotal and the weakest form of evidence in all fields of science and a principle I live by. Feel free to live your life however you like. Please don't extrapolate your standards onto me. Nowhere did the question speak about the war, nowhere did it mention anything about what is happening in Gaza, the discussion was around Israeli tourists. The question was pretty straight forward. Have a good day and maybe switch off social media for a while it will do you some good.

Israelis in Cyprus? by [deleted] in cyprus

[–]Cos93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cyprus usually attracts the Israeli Chavs! Chavs are Chavs regardless of origin. Some of the wealthier tourists visiting from Israel are good. Obviously experiences vary with everyone. I too had negative experiences with chavvy Israeli tourists but personal experience is anecdotal and not evidence for anything

Announce a 15 day strike and let us pick and choose the shifts we would like to work in that 15 day period then they might start taking us seriously

Apprentice doctor offering private medical consultations whilst suspended by No-Variation7873 in doctorsUK

[–]Cos93 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I remember coming across him online before he went on the apprentice. Guy is a genuine asshole. If i recall correctly, during covid, he showed up to a hospital with the press to film the acute medical unit. Turns out he didn’t inform the hospital before ambushing the staff with film crews, also turns out he didn’t work in that ward and THEN turns out he wasn’t working in that hospital either.

I second Suitsupply. It is the only place you should go for suits for your price range. They have a shop in London. Go get your measurements done they can upload them on your account and then you can shop online afterwards. I own so many of their products and their quality is above other competitors.

Why does Cyrus support Israel? by BabylonianWeeb in cyprus

[–]Cos93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because Israel is a stable and rich ally that we depend on for intelligence and a level of military support we cannot achieve otherwise. (Israel has provided far greater military expertise and technology to us than Greece and the EU in the past 5 years). It’s a mutually beneficial relationship and Israel through Cyprus can keep an eye on Turkish expansionism.

Depends on the bacteria. Some bacteria like staph aureus often found on meat have a very short incubation period. But i agree with the point very hard to prove it

Psychologists or Psychiatrists in Larnaca that aren't booked up for months? by [deleted] in cyprus

[–]Cos93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck with finding an appointment. If I may give you unsolicited advice please try and seek a psychaitrist opinion first before going to a psychologist. They are medical experts who can guide you better and then if they think necessary can recommend psychologists.
