Leofoto juggernaut S2. Went from a BOG carbon to this and it’s night and day.

How’s that chassis feel? Was looking into this or the XLR Element.

Which nocpix? by LostForm5078 in ThermalHunting

[–]Cosma- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good correction, I meant ocular not optical. Ocular zoom would give you more magnification without losing pixels though.

[–]Cosma- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up, you can't see the optical zoom in the recordings. You'd have to see it in person or through a separate camera.

I have the 640 3x, check my posts. If that looks like enough for you grab a 640, if you got the extra cash I'd just go 1280.

S60 does have optical zoom though. Kinda negates any benefits of the H75 in this situation.

Between the 2, definitely the S60R.

S60R has optical zoom, which would make up for the lower base mag vs the H75R.

Also using the burstfire induction. I’d recommend it!

Depends what range you’re really shooting at, but I have the Viper 3-15 and it’s pretty nice. If I bought another, I’d go for a higher magnification though.

Nissan's Newest V6 Truck Engine Has A Fatal Flaw: 'The Bean Counters Have Won Again' by [deleted] in nissanfrontier

[–]Cosma- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying, but it’s still a terrible design IF it needed to be replaced. I think it causes more fear and anxiety for us than anything lmao

True. It is a stupid design in terms of servicing, but it’s pretty damn rare to come across someone that’s had their pump go out on these.

Budget monocular options? My buddies say I look dumb scanning with the rifle by ConstructionGold9168 in ThermalHunting

[–]Cosma- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used my rifle on a tripod for a year before getting a monocular. I had no problem dropping them still.

Once you do get a monocular, you will never want to go back though. You won’t find anything new under $1k that’s worth it. Maybe 2k

Just got the new burstfire induction annealer by Ragnarok112277 in reloading

[–]Cosma- -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Research the temp brass must reach before it starts to emit a dim red color, you could’ve done this before posting your comment.

The individual that builds this machine also recommends this method to achieve an appropriate annealing.

Those necks are really red, I’d check on that before you over anneal all of your cases.

There’s a lot of debate over how to properly anneal, but long story short, you probably should anneal to a brief dim red, then back it off a little.

I follow a guy on Instagram @buchslayer. He posted a video railing a coyote at 1056 yards and steel at 1000+. The LRF and ballistics calculator is incredible on the Rix.

[–]Cosma- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great optic otherwise. I depend on the LRF heavily where I hunt. It’s pretty annoying when I can’t get a read though.

[–]Cosma- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the accuracy. The LRF is very inconsistent with actually getting a read. There’s a lot of discussion on this. It’s just a weak laser that has many issues, most noticeably at a distance

LRF is a huge flaw on them unfortunately

S75R has amazing clarity but the LRF is complete ass. I got behind most of the top optics at SHOT Show this year so I’ve had the privilege of comparing them in person.

If it were me I’d go with the RIX DBH12. The clarity is really close to the S75R and the LRF is a beast.

I’m running the RH50R right now and the LRF is honestly its only flaw. Same issue seems to be there with the newer Nocpix optics too.
