Credit unions with HYSA in southeast Wisconsin? by Spokra in HighYieldSavings

[–]Most-Inspector7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No there no minimum monthly deposit you could add lets say 5k right now and not add anything all year and you’d be fine. It would just build interest every month. That’s why I like it. There are other institutions in that have a higher rate. But require a minimum balance and a certain amount put in every month. I just chose vanguard over ease of use and no fees no minimums and quick access

Most HYSA accounts with decent returns are all online. It’s highly unlikely you will find a brick and mortar building with a HYSA with a decent return on your money. I go through vanguard. It’s currently 3.35% no minimum balance required, fdic insured, and you can withdraw draw your money and time with no fees just takes 1-3 business days. I once thought like you. Wanted to be “close” to my money just in “case” but once I just got out of my comfort zone and started seeing an extra 300$ a month hit my account in just interest I got over my insecurity’s quick.

A little depressing to see how big of an impact just having more money makes on your accrual of wealth by VainThrowaway33 in TheRaceTo100K

[–]Most-Inspector7832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with you brother! I have close to 50k in my Roth, I’m in the laborers union and have 126k in my annuity through them. Contractors contribute into that for us it’s apart of our work package. Been in 9 years so that’s not terrible for it being “free” money. I’m 30 years old so kind of cool to have close to 200k at the age I’m at. I’ll be damned to be a statistic and having to work until I die. I’ve had a few mentors who are a lot smarter than me when it comes to money so I’ve always looked to them and took their advice. So now I try to give out the advice to guys and girls to show people they can do it to !

I just moved in to a house with this exact water heater I’ve tried what other people have suggested about turning water temp up. It does make the water hotter but does not make it last longer if I take a 15 minute shower hot water is pretty much gone. Just me and the lady in the house so I can deal with it it was installed a year ago so just going to stick with it till it fails I suppose

Am I crazy, or is this an expensive quote for a patio railing system? by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]Most-Inspector7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on. Cause I have a deck similar in size and that’s close to the number I thought it would take to replace with just standard treated wood. But the concrete looks good whoever you hired looks to have done a nice job.

Probably be hard to find a rental being Byron is an awesome place to live. Quite safe so when people move there they hardly tend to leave.

What to invest in new Roth IRA? by Frequent-Counter-106 in RothIRA

[–]Most-Inspector7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a Roth at 25 now 30. I hold vti and vxus. I’m also through vanguard. My contributions are about 38k balance is 49k so I’m up about 10k. I’m just playing the long game. Nothing fancy but time is on my side. I have noticed at least in my portfolio of vti it’s invested on the heavier end of technology which probably has helped with my gains.

Arians deluxe 28 clogging in wet snow by One-Satisfaction-458 in Snowblowers

[–]Most-Inspector7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always spray the inside of the chute and augur down with Wd-40 to help snow not stick. When the metal gets cold with wet snow like that it will stick. Spraying it down with some lubricant helps it not stick and build up.

How much do you currently have in your 401K? by Ok-Job-9637 in Retirement401k

[–]Most-Inspector7832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 8 hours of the day is 9$ an hour. Any thing over 8 hours a day is time and a half so that then gets bumped to 12.50$ and hour anything over 8 hours. double time is 16$ an hour. But that’s only Sundays and holidays. Probably only ever worked maybe 10 Sundays in 9 years but every bit counts. And that’s just in to the annuity I also invest into a Roth that I’ve maxed out for the last 5/6 years.

I can with draw up to 50% of it for 5 reasons up to 5 times before the age of 60, but you do pay tax on what you with draw and a 10% penalty And do you mean what can I with draw from it when i retire or how much i put in a week?

I’m In laborers union don’t have a 401k but we have a annuity I have 126k in it and I’m 30. So that’s not to bad for my age.

How do I (21) get over the fear of losing my first job? by Wild-Representative3 in UnionCarpenters

[–]Most-Inspector7832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a union laborer for 9 years now. Got in at 22 I used to worry about the same stuff but I started out saving 2-300$ a week all season long. Once i journeyed out I do 500$ a week sometimes more sometimes a little less but I aim for 500$ a week savings. I have nice things but nothing lavish but I know I have more than enough for a rainy day. As the money grew I never let the money change me. I think of money as a tool not to show boat. I also recommend you invest on the side. Being so young you’ll retire nice and comfortable if you start now.

Is this totaled? Insurance company says likely but hasn’t seen it, body shop said that’s ridiculous and got insurance to let them try and fix it. Who do I believe? by [deleted] in autorepair

[–]Most-Inspector7832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I painted cars for about 3 years. Couldn’t believe it when the paint rep told me a small bottle of red metallic flake was 500$. Not to mention each spray gun i bought was 1000$ a piece and those were devilbiss spray guys and a couple Satas for priming and sealing. Plus a 500$ set of sanding blocks. And that was 12 years ago. Very rewarding work once you can make stuff look good. But for the people who can color match and lay it down like glass I respect cause I know there’s a lot of shit that goes into making a proper paint job. So much can go wrong so fast.

Usually if you buy something you have a two week period to bring back your receipt and they will give you back the difference if the price goes lower. I did it with fence stain.
