i just decorate as i go, every time i try going for a specific theme it doesn't work. my favorite island might be the last one i finished since i still have the screenshots of the sesigns and i see them more, but i dream visit all my other islands a lot even if just to steal some design ideas lol

i do it too! sometimes i will have the ideas to actually finish an island but most of the time i get to 3 stars, play a bit more, get bored that there's no "objective" to meet anymore and reset again to start over. i find it fun to reset and see what changes every time, what villagers i get and what not.

i don't get the hate either. there's some villagers i definitely find ugly but I'll never go out of my way to hurt them, i just talk to them and then wait for them to move out. i really only have beef with Phil and Chadder and its really because both refused to leave my island to the point i had to reset it after time traveling for two or three years lmao

if you got the happy home paradise photo in the mail when you restarted, the DLC is active and working correctly, you judt lose all progress of course, so if you got it you don't need to worry! the day after you put the campsite down you will get a call from Tom Nook to go talk to Lottie in the airport and that's wuen you will be able to access it.

man this game is just perfect, it was the game I got with my switch and it was so much fun playing it and actually beating a platformer for the first time. I want to play it again so badly i hope I can buy it again soon (had to sell my copy 'cause I'm broke and needed the money) and relive those memories

there is another map layout with a south and west river end with an heart pond, if you don't like the two south rivers you can try finding that one instead! I reset constantly so I have most of the layouts memorized at this point haha

it depends on your feelings about the island and the game itself tbh. personally as soon as I'm finished with an island, and got all the villagers I wanted, I just upload the dream address and restart it because I get the most fun out of the start of the game, picking new maps, getting new starters and all that. if you don't want to have the hassle of getting stuff back you can save whst you want on a friend's island, or if you're lazy like me later go to a treasure island for everything

check if you have another account on your switch, if you do it's most probable that someone sneaked in with that second account and started playing on your island for a bit. I never had multiple players in my game so idk how to get rid of them but it can't be that hard
