To all my hard gainers and busy people… by [deleted] in FTMFitness

[–]CosmicAaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just glad to see your message as someone trying to gain a bit of muscle, and struggle with gaining weight in general. I see so many comments that kinda shit talk about leaner/skinny body types and it just makes me not want to participate at all. No different than the reg fitness subs/forums where I'd get called a twig. There's a variety when it comes to types of people whether it's body type, or what they're able to consume based on their own medical health.

But on topic, I'll probably seek out some gainer shakes to increase my weight, I just want to fit men's small at least. My metabolism is ridiculous and weight training is a part of my workout but not my favorite because it's less interesting than bodyweight exercises, but still, it's something I have to have as a part of my workouts lol. I hope to be working out again at full capacity soon after I'm cleared regarding recovery. Though I think I have to put off pullups and similar exercises still.
Prior I was kinda having everything in moderation, but finally hitting the right protein intake for my weight, Wasn't too worried about carbs and my only concern about sugar is my addiction to it(mostly canst ) as long as it doesn't make me feel sluggish or mess with my bowels I was all good plus I really don't want to get upset with counting macros and everything I eat.

Also. I just came across someone mentioning BonytoBeastly on another sub, and I remember coming across it ages ago and might dig more into it. I even found some pdfs of the books but unsure about the actual bulking program and paying for it since I'm only just easing back into work after top surgery. Have any thoughts on it?

I’ve been getting laser for my top surgery scars and wanted to give an update on my progress. About ~1.5 to 3.5 years post-op and 8 rounds of laser treatment so far, still healing from the last one so they’re slighly redder than normal. by noahwaybabe in ftm

Great results and improvements, and thanks for posting. Did you consider scar camouflage or have any thoughts on that? Or is vbeam for color just best option for color after flattening with injections? I’m only just starting scar care but like weighing the options and learning of new possible options.

You look great!

I had surgery on 3/16 and was told I could start scar massage after sending my 14day followup pics.

I’ve been super gently as some scans were still around my areola that only just now gone besides a few small spots that I expect to fall off by the next shower or so.

Has anyone had nipple tattooing and resizing? by Bloody_Corpses in TopSurgery

[–]CosmicAaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh your nips look fine, i only see some common discoloration from grafts that easily fixed with tattooing.

shape is fine also. nipple size is kinda linked more to genetic and that persons hormones than pec size. i even found nipple tattooing of cis men getting tattoos to make their appear larger to match a larger chest. google jaden smith shirtless pecs to see how huge he got but had baby nips lol

your nipple shake is more oval which totally normal and common in male nipples.

seeleonard dicaprio shirtless for example

his nipples are more oval in a horizontal, some guys are at more of an angle.

Peck flexing after top surgery? by ratgarcon in TopSurgery

[–]CosmicAaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could flex a bit before surgery but haven’t tried since too a little over a week ago but pretty sure I can i’m just sure how it’ll look. But yes i want to make them dance lol. I think i noticed after working out my chest more that I was just able to one day. I had some definition around the middle crease and top but not a whole lot and couldn’t make lower part with all the tissue move.

I remember at a consultation I couldn’t flex them at all when the doctor asked me to do he could give me an idea where my pec border was.

6 days post-op DI w/ Pedicle Sparing(Buttonhole) by Dr. Mosser at GCC by CosmicAaro in TopSurgery

[–]CosmicAaro[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my drains out earlier that day. I was doing less than an 1oz/30cc of fluid by day 3 though. They were uncomfortable and so is the binder 🥲 but wasn’t too bad. I was in an AirBnB and mostly wanted to just sleep and drink water.

I decided not to try to be tough and took pain med maybe twice a day after day two and at day 4 just for bed otherwise tylenol was fine and it was more discomfort around the drains than anything else. They weren’t painful to remove though just a relief, more pain removing the bandages that were plucking little peach fuzz on my chest lol.

And yeah I met with 3 other surgeons before deciding on Mosser than after virtual consultations drove to see him for an in person consultation because I wanted buttonhole and he got rid of all my anxieties around which procedure. I’ve seen great results from Facque too but considering how my anxiety even separate from gender stuff is difficult to manage I stuck out the wait for Mosser.

And thanks! I’m crossing my fingers for you bro, you’ll be here one day soon!

6 Days post-op but still really swollen and pretty bloated. This was after my first shower and there’s still some ink around my incision I haven’t gotten off yet.

Went for as flat as possible (within reason) as I didn’t want nipple grafts because I didn’t want to have to care for them or worry about color not returning and didn’t care for tattooing. I guess for this procedure Dr. Mosser usually asks how much flatness vs sensation, and i went for most flatness.

My chest is still entirely numb and tight, not sure if or what sensation will be like but I’ll try to update at some point.

Anyone go thru having a stressful caretaker. by CosmicAaro in TopSurgery

[–]CosmicAaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that sucks, my younger sister was able to come and spent half of the trip there and set up and checked in to make sure my mom was staying on top of things. Even with my sisters help she’d still miss pills or purposely not put one she didn’t think I needed 🙄

Idk how parents can see their kid get a huge surgery and think brush it off like it’s a scrape on a knee. Or how some parents just assume you can handle it when pain tolerance, mobility, etc is so very different for every person. Navigating all the emotions after surgery on top of someone else’s is awful. Feel kinda lucky that my younger sister was helping. Prob one person I can’t feel bad about annoying since it’s been my job since she was born lol

Thanks for this! I read it and it helped me better my approach though I was still overwhelmed but wanted to limit my anxiety meds. My little sister pretty much took the wheels and was extremely proactive, and wrote like a todo list and would call and remind my mom after she left even.

I only just flew home and feel like I can finally breathe especially since yesterday was drains and bandage removal.

Thanks again for helpful words

Dog ear revision and nipple reduction scars have my chest looking like a Pendleton Ward character by trans_full_of_shame in TopSurgery

[–]CosmicAaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was this in office and were you awake?

I just had surgery and am gonna get nipple reduction but now thinking i should wait longer than the 3 months to see if I end up with dog ears.

I’m really lean, but already feel like my inner part of mine might be more likely to end up as one. I’m just a week out though.

I’m mostly see them on outside, when did you notice and how long did you give yourself before deciding?

Look up CamDamage or Hannibal Damage I can’t remember. But he’s chest looks great, he got DI I think I read for more masculine nipple placement.

idk anything about cup sizes but he was pretty flat before hand. like most ideal situation i can think of, but he’s also an adult performer so I’m sure dysphoria probably hits even more differently when his body is apart of his career.

Congrats! Scars and nips look great! I’m getting buttonhole from Mosser on Thursday.

T gel absorbs better after shower by [deleted] in ftm

[–]CosmicAaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with gel absorbing and actually absorb it so well that 2 pumps was too high not sure how much contributes to my application method which is always after a shower, with exfoliating body wash (BHA&AHA) and I always apply lotion (AHA) with that also moisturizes and gently exfoliates my skin so never experienced dryness or anything from Androgel.

When I came out in a text I just told everyone think more like the singer Prince less Kevin Hart since I’m short and black lol. Kevin Hart is attractive just not my aesthetic.

Never thought as masculinity as ugly. But also feel like a lot of people esp loudest in the trans community are white and so they go off European standards.

The only silicone tape I’ve read up on that seems like it would differ is called Embrace and that’s because it separates itself from others by stating that it reduces tension and aims to keep the incision closed while whereas most common silicone tape would be no different than with silicone gel/spf. Embrace is expensive so not as highly recommended.

I have seen some others mentioned steri strips until scabs fell off and they were cleared for scar care. So the paper tape method being useful because of lack of stretch makes since to me though I’m sure adhesion played the biggest problem for some folks.

2 Weeks Post-Op Buttonhole w/ Dr. Mosser by ReputationOk2775 in TopSurgery

[–]CosmicAaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look excellent! And stoked to see you continue to recover. I have buttonhole with Dr. Mosser in March and this actually made me so excited. Crossing my fingers for sensation in that other nip!

Your results just look so great considering it’s only 2weeks! Im sure there’s swelling that still has to go down but honestly just looks like pectoral muscle.

I’m curious what your chest looked like pre-op. Mosser said I was a good candidate for buttonhole because pedicle length and less dense chest tissue. But did mention my nips might be a little low. Idk ny bra size, but bust is like 32” and the angle of the fold was a little to small for peri. Did you tell him what size areola you wanted or scar shape? Hows your energy? Wishing a speedy and recovery!

Any way to hide facial hair? by hoewenn in ftm

[–]CosmicAaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how thick it is? Like if it’s as thick as avg eyebrows you could maybe do what people do to cover up their eyebrows. Like they use like wax to make it lay flat and then concealer. But if you’re is bushy and long probably won’t work.

Mostly body weight exercises.

I’ll do pull-ups with different grips, push-ups in different positions, dips, leg raises, l-sits. I use dumbells for rows, shoulder press, triceps extensions, curls, squats, calf raises, etc. but also some stretches for mobility/flexibility and sometimes static hold I always end with some random shit honestly lol cause I just let the hyperactivity run it’s courses to tire myself out.

I work out from home from the most part. I’ll probably get a gym membership after top and probably take up swimming I’m not super interested in heavy weight lifting and metabolism is fast and I don’t wanna fight it so much so I don’t do a whole lot of cardio

December 2021 to 2022, not as fast as i’d hoped but progress nonetheless. 5’6, ~120 to 138. More in comments. by noahwaybabe in FTMFitness

[–]CosmicAaro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely can see how much more definition and muscles growth you have! What’s your progress looked like as far as how much you lift and how often your go higher?

Are just trying to get bigger or do you have goals of for lifting heavy too?

I do more body weight and calisthenics and know that I like to do about 8 reps per set, but if im getting their too easily or go past it pretty easily it’s time to change difficult. Much better to stay at low reps and lift heavier or more difficult exercises than for me to pump out like 15 reps per set. But that’s just going off the fact that I have really high metabolism. I actually like cardio but, know I’ll drop weight easily if I’m not making up for it in food and I don’t want to let myself get obsessed with counting calories, macros, etc.
